BEST DAY?

Hey,

Since these terrible events happened yesterday, everyone including myself, is very concerned. But, this is a skiing forum, so lets think of some positive things.

Everyone post their absolute best day they can remember on skis.Was it a beautiful sunny warm day in your home park, Was it a cold deep powder day, or was it skiing through town on rails all day? We need some positive posts.

aahh! thebest night ever at my home mtn! w/ you actually drew! it was fairly warm, snow was nice and mushey, and the little table was nice and friendly! i had been thinking about this all day, i was ready to try a back! i saw drew and we were skiing 4 a bit then i mentioned to him i was thinking of trying it, but i think it blew right over his head. so one run we were stoped at the top of the jump i said i was going to do it! drew said something like yea right, and he went and hit the jump, and did a back and landed slightly on my tails and skided to my side! drew was mad at me and i was ready to try that again! so after a while i was landing them and after a while drew was doing them too! then he went home!

this was the best time ever!!! i was so happy!!!

 
my first day skiing at jay peak was my best day, there was 18 inches of fresh it was cold(sometime in february) and it was AMAZING!

Newfoundland and Jay Peak are sexcellent!
 
My favorite day would the second last time I skiied, which is also my third time skiing. The snow wasn't the best, and not all the slopes were open, but I still had a blast skiing because I decided to try a black diamond slope for the first time. I tried three different ones and I had a really fun time on them, even though I was going slowly. I was happy to have tried something that to me was extreme.

 
they day i hiked the sunday river pipe for two hours after it closed for the season it ruled no one else was theer but me and a few freinds.

 
the second day at SMS. I went up the chair with osme friends we goit off and skied down to the shocase bar and went back up. when we were on the top we talked to morrison for a bit. then skied down part of world moguls and hit this little jumpo at the end of their lane and i did my first 3 with a grab i was so stoked. And later taht day i was in smileys group and we hiked up to that really steep thing above high norths lane and skied that and i did my first alley oop ion the pipe.

When me and my freind found two sick lines on our trip to bc...one at Fernie which was a crazy steep chute off piste surronded by tress and it was like a 25min run

And at some other place,,,oh kimberly it was actually in between two runs....glade run in the powder and we accidently gaped a snowmoblie trail (about a 6 foot drop) it was Fuc8ed up...Luckly we didn't land flat on the trail we actaully hit the snow bank on the other side and flew into the snow,...haha it was great

Sweet powder day @ Whakapapa. Me and Phatt Bevan hiked backcountry up Skyline Ridge 4 times in the one day, it was the sickest thing out. Only our tracks on the entire side of the mountain, it was the greatest, full on bluebird, boot deep heavy powder, good mates and enough speed to make your eyes water inside your goggles!

actually, one of the funniest days...

in whistler this year a bunch of my buddies were hitting the pipe and forgot the time. The lifties closed the lift and my freidns got stuck up on Blackomb. They continued to hit the pipe till about 7...then began the long tredge down the mountain!!!

We honestly thought they were dead, we were sitting at home waiting for them..they stroll in around midnight. They stunk like shit and were so pissed off! They were running from 'bears' all the way down the mountain

 
the day i did my 1st double black at Breckenridge, that was the best powder day ever...

My best day is when I started going up with my girlfriend, not only I was going up with her but I won my first neschool big air comp.

I learned corks misties and 1080's in the same day, that was sick. Prolly out skiing powder in colorado was better though.

 
ns do u mean that part that fell off the cat track and u had to go under the ropes? We dropped in over there every morning and cut across high north to get to the bottom of the SMS park without taking the tbar back up

notice how most of us here nejoy powder skiing alot more than hanging around in the park. I bet its because powder skiing isnt very common. at least not in the east anyways.

Date: Mid March

Location: Whislter-Blackcomb

Weather: Not a cloud in the sky, 50 degrees.

The mountain got a foot and a half the night before, it was nothing but sunshine. It was a Wednesday so there were no crowds.., I can remember hiking out in Garibaldi State Park right above the glacier, getting to the top and just taking it all in, then hitting some fresh lines, dropping a little 5-8 footer and skiing right down into the glacier. It was probably the most epic line I have ever had. Nothing but fresh snow, sun shining, vest on, shades, vents open, ripping down a steep line with nobody around me. I think. Here are some pictures from that day...

My best day ever......Probaly the time that Drew, Hames and I beat the last big snowstorm to Snowshoe. Just catchin' any freshies is the best time ever.

still i got my yellow cat, and my wooden baseball bat, and my shiny silver gat, and if my homey got my back then i got all i need...oh yea some snow would be nice to

Whistler two years ago. Me and a bunch of my buddies were first up to the peak of Blackcomb and the night before they had just gotten 3 feet of fresh. It was the greatest day ever. Peace.

Mega old legit thread bump...

This year, when I finally rode on my first twin tips with all my friends. First time I realized how much I actually loved skiing. Such an incredible day.
