Yo, so I’m looking to do another season somewhere in Canada, so I’m wondering where people have done seasons and have had a good time. I’ve already done whis, and wanna do somewhere else. I was thinking of Red but I doubt I’ll be able to find a place to live there so I’m looking for reccs

Is housing near Red that tough to find?

no, it's got an old mining town in rossland, though might be a place you have to be there in person to get a rental. also trail is just down the hill.

Yeah I’d be looking for a spot in Rossland but it’s a crazy small rental market

I was gonna say Red before I even read your thread haha. I've spent a bunch of time up there and had a blast every time.

In addition to Red and Revy, as others have suggested, I'd think of Fernie. Not much there for park really, but it is an amazing resort in some really cool mountains. Check out the Burrlapz videos to get an idea of terrain. The only issue with Revy I can see, is there is only one gondola and two lifts, so on powder days lines get insane. Red has the added bonus of being near Whitewater and Kootenay pass, which are my favourite places to ski I've ever been to. Amazing terrain and snow. I've heard great things about Kicking Horse, and it mightn't be too hard to find housing in Golden. There is no park there though. I'd consider Alberta too. Lake Louise is pretty rad, I hear great things about Jasper, and if you want a small resort vibe on a big mountain with great terrain, go to Castle. The beauty of Alberta is the tax is the lowest in Canada, and minimum wage is higher. Drinking age is also 18 there if you're into that.

Or if you want to do something no one else probably would, spend a season at Marble in Newfoundland. Smaller mountains, but still with decent vertical. Unique downhome culture. It might be an epic season where it snows every day for 3 months, or there's a chance it could be the worst season of your life, with a january thaw followed by a month of bulletproof hardpack coupled with gale force winds. At Marble you will experience a lift line on average 2 days a year. The rest of the time you'll be sharing a 1700' vertical mountain with about 30 locals. There is a beautiful lodge there, a detach quad (bottom to top in ~7 mins) and a semblance of a park. The nearby Industrial town of Corner Brook has excellent opportunities for filming urban, if that's your jam. Simon Dumont, Scott Hibbert and Dave Crichton filmed had shots there in level 1's 2002 release 'Forward'. Highland Productions out of Quebec has also filmed there. There is also some of the best backcountry skiing on the East Coast within an hour's drive, in Gros Morne National park to the North and the Blomidon mountain range to the West. Again, not the biggest vertical, but it is legit, steep gnarly big mountain lines in a place which is something of a geological anomaly. Also available are Japan style wide spaced trees loaded with deadfall, boulders and small waterfalls for the sending. Both Meathead Productions and Level 1 have filmed in the NL backcountry. PM me for more info.

Yeah haha I was considering Banff/Louise too, as I’d be legal there(I wasn’t legal In whis last season), but I’m from Calgary so it’s really close to home and I grew up skiing Louise and sunshine so idk if I wanna ride the same stuff. Fernie seems pretty tight and More likely to have staff housing
