Best beer?

Nice, I am currently enjoying one of those right now.

In fact, most German beers are noteworthy in my opinion.

What you should try brewing is a Weissbier, or wheat beer, something which for whatever reason, us N Americans havent really found out about yet. You can find it occasionally in Liquor stores, but it is expensive as F, because it is imported and a "novelty" I guess.

Try making the american wheat beer, they always seem to come out good in the home kits. Then throw in an orange slice and it'll taste like a bluuee mooonnnn... mmmmmmm

dark brews are more forgiving for first timers. not great for pong, but the stronger flavours will cover up your mistakes.

anyone up for a brewers cult? just a place to throw recipes and ask for help. not sure if there are a lot of homebrewers on NS, but if there's 10 or so it might be worth it.

Lagers are traditional fermented at cold temps because lager yeast creates some estery off flavors at higher temps. but you don't have to ferment them cold, anchor steam beer is made this way.

The IPA will prob taste the best but go for the strongest possible if your brewing your own. Its gonna taste like shit anyway....

Best in a pint glass - Guiness

Best at a party - Corona with Lime

Best with your dinner - Pyramid Hefaweisen

Best to get cheaply drunk - PBR

But, for most wonderful taste, I'd have to go with my family's homebrewed Alaskan Pale Ale.
