Best Bedroom or Dorm Speakers For $75

Hey NS, im wondering what you guys would recommend for computer/ ipod speaker for 75. size doesn't really matter, no need to spend more money for portability. looking for 2 to 4 speakers and a sub with the best sound. Doesn't need to be able to go really loud but needs to sound decent and a sub that hits bass notes that wouldn't be too shameful compared to my car (12" kenwood excelon). 10/10 to any specific recommendations, just need to know where to start. I've looked on crutchfield and a few other sites but it seems there are only either component home audio systems or ipod docks that are recommended. Thanks!

I bought the logitech z-2300's for 75 bucks new from amazon and they shake the entire house. the sub is way overkill but you can tone it down and the sound from the speakers is mad decent. Plenty of bump and volume to have a big party though.

and I just did an internet search and it looks like the price has gone up to anywhere between 2 to 400

but I did find them here for 100 bucks. best speakers for the money, trust me.

one thing I forgot to mention, the sub that comes with these speakers is about the size of three shoeboxes stacked together and weighs like 15 lbs.

it's kind of inconvenient, but if you'll ever be having an outdoor party or something happening in a larger area than your room you'll be glad you didn't get some tiny desktop speakers.
 
find a friend that works at bestbuy and get the klipsch computer speakers, there 75 on discount and they bump... i would know form experience
 
Not to jack your thread, but Im looking for the same things for my dorm next year. Except I have about 150 to work with. Those replying to my post please PM me instead of derailing the thread :).
 
that site looks pretty sketchy, or else i would shell out the 100 for those. found just the sub for 50 used on ebay, but i dont have a clue what the wiring would be like and what component speakers i could go with to fit the budget decently. otherwise, the z506 looks like a good bet too, anyone delt with the site Newegg.com? thanks for all the help guys, keep it going for any other suggestions and a better place to buy
 
do yourself a favour and get some real speakers. You should be able to get some Wharfedale Diamond 8.2's off eBay or craigs for under $100. Will outperform anything under $1000. None of this plastic diaphragm, paper cone nonsense. Buttt if all your music is downloaded bro step (320kb ommmmggggzzz) then the logitecs will be fine.
 
Logitech z4's are discontinued but if you can find them, buy em! ive used mine at least an hour a day for the last three years.
