i'm really considering the black magic pocket cinema camera.... but I dont wanna shell out 500 for the metabones speedbooster. Are there alternatives? I really just want to be able to use my tokina 11-16, which I believe without the speedbooster (with a normal adapter) would be around 22-36.... does anyone have advice? what does zmox use on his gh3?

'smart' adapter: Metabones.

'simple' adapter: Novoflex.

Any other adapter is shit.

OP, you're wrong. bmpcc has a crop factor of almost 3 (super 16 sensor size?)I think, it's cropped way more than the gh3... your tokina 11-16 with a regular adapter would be like a 33-48.

You could always go for the fotodiox excell +1 (look into it, it's not the same as a speedbooster) or the RJ lens turbo if you're going the focal reducer route and don't want to spend that much for the metabones one.

I've only heard bad things about rip off speed boosters, they're $100 for a reason, they suck.

If you want a speed booster, save the money for the metabones.

ok ok so fuck the bmpcc.... but what about a regular adapter on the gh3? not a speedbooster but just a mft to EF adapter... it would make the lens twice as long and I'd loose a stop, but it should be fine right?

yup, I kind of like that it's twice as long though. I've used a fotodiox one that gave me weird light leaks and the regular metabones adapter which was perfect imo. Novoflex makes an alright one too.

The regular metabones Nikon-MFT one is good. Better than the Novoflex IMO. The aperture ring has a lot more throw which is nice.
