Bern Watts

I picked up a bern watts in the summer sales and it arrived a few weeks ago. However I have just realised that's it's only a hard hat. How much less protection does this offer than the full models, as I think it's too late to return it? If it is completely unsuitable I'll throw it up on eBay or something. Just as a note I ski mainly powder/big mountain and I hit the park infrequently.

I wear a light beanie under mine just to keep it snug and goggles under my helmet. It should have also come with a knitted layer to go inside the helmet.

it's not certified as a real helmet because it narrowly failed on one of the tests (don't remember which one) but on the other hand it did outperform a lot of real helmets when it came to resisting multiple impacts.... on a regular helmet the foam gets dented after a good fall and loses some of its protective properties while the watts (from what i was told) rebounds to its original state....

now i have no idea of what exactly is true or not about this, this is just what i've heard...

i've also been using the watts for skiing all of last season and now in the summer i use it for longboarding and it's definitely my favorite helmet so far !

so imho no reason to get rid of it, unless it doesn't fit !
