Bent Chetler v Opus

What's up everyone? New member here. I'm looking for some new pow sticks for this season and want to get your opinion. I'm a bigger rider, 6'3 205 lbs, advanced, ride mostly Alpental and Crystal Mountain but also frequent Whistler and Utah. I'm looking for something jibby that I can land switch with but is still stiff enough not to noodle when dropping cliffs. Right now I'm deciding between the Chetler and the Opus, both in the 192. What are your thoughts on those skis? I know both are unchanged from last year besides the graphics so it would be great to hear from someone who owns or has ridden either one. +K for all comments. Thanks fellas!

Opus vs. Bent Chetlers? Which is more capable in the trees, powder, and groomed?

Alan,

I’m just now getting on the Bentchetler, look for a review in a few weeks! So far I can say both are very capable and fun in trees, and pow. The Opus is more fun on groomers and in tight trees because of the tighter sidecut radius.

Find this in the comment

I would say the Opus for trees and jibbing because they are softer and have a shorter turn radius and Bentchetler for more open area and charging.

I've skied both, but not in 192cm, plus It's been like 3 years I didn't try the bents. I had the 185cm opus this, really like them, good for trees, really surfy feeling. They we're a bit too soft sometime ( I'm 5'11 and 165 lbs ) but the 192 are stiffer I think.

They are both great ski, I would suggest you to demo them if you can, if not blister is your friend, try to message them, they are really nice and might be able to help you a little more

opus no doubt. way more playful than the benchetlers. the 192 opus can charge just as hard as you'd want it to, except maybe in AK...
