Being Spit On - How Serious of an Offense?

Buddy got spit on the other day and took it very calmly - for me that's a huge insult and something I'm not sure I could tolerate (let slide).

So - what are your thoughts.....Hold your cool or start swinging?
 
i would laugh at the person that spit at me. wouldnt bother me at all. feel like if you get mad you just prove them right, or make them feel justified in their actions
 
Resorting to violence is usually not the answer... Your buddy didn't stoop to whoever spit on him's level, so good for him.
 
Meh, I would more just be pissed because that's gross as fuck...then walk away because it's also retarded.
 
i can take almost any insult, even about my family and shit, words in general don't hurt me, but if you spit on me or in any way soil or damage my stuff, i'll go bananas ....

it's just one of those things i can't have at all ....
 
I would've punch him in the fucking nose. Respect is aa big deal to me. I'm not the biggest guy in a room but i won't take shit like getting pushed around definitely not spit on. If someone bullies you as long as they physically confront you first my dad always tought me to not take that. If you lose the fight it doesn't matter that person most likely won't fuck with you again... unless you go down like a bitch. but yeah some kid spit on me at a party last year i just hauled off and threw a fat right hook then just kept punching then when he was on the ground i spit on his fucking face. People who say fighting isn't the answer get your head out of your ass, quit being a pussy, stand up for yourself, and think of what your grandpa would've done back in the 40's or 50's where people ended shit with fists like men. OP your friend is a pussy for not beating the hell out of that guy.
 
Its also assult. You could easily get Hep from that cops have to get screened when ever this happens to them. Not to mention fucking insulting I would punch him in the teeth

spitting on someone is the one of the most disrespectful things you can do in my opinion. i would have lost my shit
 
the only person I've ever been spat on by was my ex she spit in my face during an argument, it was a tough situation because I feel morally obligated to not hit a woman but my natural instinct was to make a fist and drive it forwards towards her face as hard as possible. Luckily my cool temperance prevailed and I did not lash out with my rage.

 
If someone ever spit on me I'd be throwing down like there's no tomorrow, you don't fucking spit on someone
 
that video cracks me up every time. apparently the guy is trying to talk politics with the goat.

spitting on something you just don't do. you can argue "be the bigger man," but being spit on is hugely disrespectful, and is generally an instigating action. don't spit on someone if you don't want to get cracked in the face, hard.
 
I agree with your points in the thread. It's nasty that someone spat on you but to strike back is low. Save your energy for something more productive.

Yeah I was expecting a really divided response on this.

It seems most of the people who say its not worth fighting over, are also the kind of people who don't want to fight or get in fights.

I still feel its one of the lowest things you can do and shouldn't be tolerated.
 
I think you can get in serious shit with the law cause of desieses that can be spread through saliva. This being said, I would flip a switch and come out swinging, talking is one thing, but spitting in my face, hell no. I'm not the strongest dude and I'll probally lose, but I'd make sure I for a couple of punches in so he knows if he wants to start shit, its not gonna go over easy, but props for staying cool, smartest thing you could do.
 
right well if i'd punched him then i definitely would've been charged with assault... damn you kids are thick.

never actually been spit on, but i a kid did spit at me (and missed) during a soccer game. i confronted him after the game but pussed out and left.

had he hit me, especially in the face, he would've gotten decked for sure.
 
its one of the very few things that SERIOUSELY piss me off enough to do anything. I mean literally you could tell me I'm going to hell for being gay and I'll just be all "cool story bro"; but spitting at me or doing one of those mocking fake slaps/pat on the cheek will make me RAGE
 
some one spit on me then iI got in one lil fight and my mom got scared

And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air" i wistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and had a dice in the mirror if any thing i could say that this cab was rare but i thought nah forget it yo holmes to bel-air i pulled up to a house about seven or eight and yelled to the cabby yo homes smell you later looked at my kingdom i was finally there to sit on my throne as the fresh prince of bel air.

Well I was not trying to imply that punching him would get you out of deserving an assult charge. I just think that anyone who degenerates to spitting on someone else as a response to an altercation has no self control and is probably a wimp
