Bold & Underlined for lazy ppl :D

Hey, just joined the forums. I was born n' raised as a downhill skier shreddin blacks like no 2maro. When it comes to the park, well.. i really have only ever messed around on boxes. Iv never had twins always downhills, so its kinda hard to shred the park. A few years ago we move from Cali to Michigan (Boooo!!) and now all i have the option of doing is 200ft crap. So i want to shred park. Id probably say im looking for 70% park 30% groomers. There no pow in southern michigan :[[[[

Today I went to a local shop and took a peak at some twins. Iv always had my eyes on chronics and ar7s but right now my budget is $600 and im kinda of want good bindings rather then pay 550 for chrons and end up with dollar store bindings. My friends tell me to stick with armada/line for park.. and from what iv seen i like that idea, but if there is some tight ass ski that atomic sells in a back ally for organs or something I want to know.

So I came to the conclusion that I could get masterminds ($350 after tax.. gives me around 200s for some sick bindings), the reviews on the internet are sketchy as shit.. some ppl say there great, others say its ski from the bargin bin. Honestly, if it just gets me through one season and i can sell it in april and buy 2012 models next year thats fine. One thing i cant tell is that "beginner" keeps poping up... is this beginer in park or is it just a beginner ski? Also one turn on for me when out of the park is that i could hit all those tiny jumps going backwards, if the masterminds arnt symmie.. is that gonna fuck shit up?

Oh, i also dont care about big air right now, I want to focus on gettin spinny on rails, boxes, and tiny-medium sized jumps. The only reason i dont want afterbangs is because i dont feel ill be in the park 100% of the time. Also what are your thoughts on suspects?

PS. There aint no pipes either..

PPS. 18 5'10" 160lbs

Thanks for the help,

armada el reys if you are only looking at those two companies. ive never been a fan of line. just personal experience. theres a ton of other ski companies that are good besides those two though.

I went on my old skis this season, and decided im done with it i want twins to much. Sold all my old skis/bindings on craiglist. Only have my boots and a few sets of poles left.

ill check em out, they looks dope as hell. What about other companies then? I kinda just got the feeling that line and armada are the powerhouse of park.. but what do i know about park haha. I know more about park snowboards tbh

i dont know about the red and yellow masterminds ( this years) but lasts year (the green ones) weren't very tough. i work at a ski shop in eastern Ontario, probably very similar to your area, and i saw at least 4 or 5 pairs of them coming back for warranty with snapped tips. line hooked most of the kids up with a new set.

i live in south west michigan and shred park, but since the hills are so small my abangs can rip the the whole mountain(hill), they are perfect for around here

might be a little tall but o2gearshop.com has 181 head bullet 84's for $99.95. You could pick up some px12 bindings from evogear.com for around a $100 also. Those bindings are legit as fuck, and the bullets retail $650

Since you are coming from a racing background, I would recommend the Armada Pipecleaner if you can find it in your size. It has a race base, a nice flex pattern I think you would like, carves very well for a park ski, and of course it comes with Armada's reputation for durability. In my experience with Line, their skis have tended to be a bit more on the bargain side with little life. You probably won't like them when you carve and they will be a little more pansy-like on jumps. I'm not a fan, some people are.

For bindings, Look Pivots and FKS bindings are great but if you are learning and ejecting a lot you might find out how easily a brake will bend/snap off. Tyrolia bindings (Peak, Deadbolt, Mojo, etc.) have easily replaceable brakes and are excellent bindings if you get something with a max DIN of 15 or higher. These are also easy to find on sale since several companies put their names on the same bindings.

get tjs, colbys or candide yard from coreupt in the outlet section, all under 250$ all pro models and then just get DLD15's from coreupt and they mount them up for you and mail them to you il less than a week, and the DLD15s end up being look PX's which are a solid binding all for under 450 dollars bindings in outlet are 110 hope that helps
