Before you buy a mac...

XP is still a good OS that doesnt crash that much. I admit that even though I like Macs and I like OS X. XP is pretty stable and its only crashed on me twice. I have seen OS X crash before, but only once. Both are stable enough to run a decent amount of programs at the same time.

 
Alright people, you can do pretty much everything on both PC's and Macs. Its not what you can do, its which does it better.

 
i never sed it was better for everyone, i sed it was opinion, you are putting xp down in general saying it sucks, obviously you know nothing about it.

 
Linux beats OSX and XP. YellowDog with Mac-On-Linux, however, is possibly the best set-up available.

Ok, Freezy.....Windows 95 was 8 years ago...so was MAC Os 7, I think. I bought a mac at this time, the Performa 5215CD. WORST COMPUTER EVER. I think it might have worked...twice, maybe? Horrible, horrible, horrible. We've had many Mac's in my house starting with my dads old Apple II. We've had a powerbook and a IIsi also. ALl of these computers have had been problematic in one way or another.

I also use Macs at school for the past 2 years ( 2 years = more than a week.) And quite frankly, I'm not soo hot on loosing my word documents because the system feels like it. I did edit one short video...which did go well, so I'll give Mac's the title of being better at video editing. However, image editing is a pain in the ass. The whole ' not having file extensions' is a HUUUGE pain in the ass. Photoshop runs sooo much better on my PC than it does on a mac. Macs also just suck for web browsing, plain and simple. freeze..fr..f..FRE..EEZE. And as for games!! Are you kidding me?

Macs = Video Editing

That was classic , thats pretty much what I think about macs. I had to use them at school , everything seems broken. Like when it says theres no memory (but theres like 256mb) and you have to manually change how much to program uses. Then it crashes all the time (my teacher tells me its thinking , and I wait forever and its still stuck), so then you have to pull the power cord out because the button doesn't do anything. And where the second mouse button (how to you right click!!). The funniest thing that ever happend with a mac is one morning I walked in and the screen was blank , and the thing sounded like a boat motor. By the end of the year I wanted to throw out of the window!
