I have old, beat up bindings and need to get new ones. What sort of binding should i be looking at if I want to be jibbing and also shredding gnar. I have been setting my din around 10 on my early 2000s Solomon S810s.

thanks for the help

well that's stupid, because the salomon 810 only goes up to a 10 din. cranking your dins to the max is not good for the springs inside the bindings and probably fucked em up pretty good. you should always have your din set to the middle of it's range, so if you usually set your dins to 10, buy a 6-14 binding.

For safety reasons, don't bindings have to be designed to realease the same at every DIN setting?

probably, btu that doesnt mean that there isnt more stress on all of the internal parts when you crank up the din.

Ideally your DIN should be in the middle of your binding's range. Yes, they're designed to work properly at all the DIN settings, but having the springs away from either extremes will help it stay alive longer.

Also, the materials on a binding should be designed for the DIN range on it. So generally speaking, a binding with a DIN range of 6-14 should be a lot more durable than a binding with a DIN range of 2-9
