Hey M&A,

Been holding on to this footy from the spring and summer. I have a ton of footy and this is was basically stuck out as my favorite shots. Its still really rough, so I'm hoping I can get some help and have you guy's critique it.

The actually footy doesn't even start until 6 seconds into the song. Still trying to figure out what to do for the intro.

The ending is really weak.

And there are basically no transitions in it, just rough everything.

Thinking about doing some sounds design.. I've never really done any sound in my edits though but i'd like to start, cause it adds a ton to the whole piece.

Anyways here it is.

not sure if its juts because it isnt done, but at around 1:25 the music only plays on the left side

tried replaying it and played it with headphones but it only plays on the left side. Maybe its the song its self but it really through me off! overall great job!
 
some super sick shots in there man those are dope. the ending is kinda weak like you said. i think out of those shots you should end with the shot at 1:14 where it looks like your on a boat and you get the tail end of the wake. that shot is super awesome with the colors and all. probably my fav. I kinda liked the fast cuts in there. keeps you on your toes a little bit. but yeah really sick shots just maybe a little rearranging is all. i would switch the firefighters with the water for sure tho
 
The track is great and your shot selection flows VERY well between subject-matter. I'm swamped right now, but want to come back to the thread later to give an actual critique. Overall, it's definitely headed in the right direction.
 
I got an indislidermini its not great, but it does the job. The opening shot I borrowed a KC Lite for. THe other jib shots were on a jib by Lobsmady I think, It's called the 'porta-jib' or something
 
Yeah noticed the audio thing and I was like "da fuck?" ahaha other than that it was super dope. Some of the landscape shots got a little repetitive but i liked it over all.
 
The three things I noticed:

1) The song switches to the left at the end. Already said.

2) Didn't like the way you bumped the cut at :22. It jostles the viewer.

3) I feel as though you need continuity. I know it's "just a reel" which is meant to highlight your work, but its rather discontinuous and constantly leaves me hanging. Leave like things with like things and group stuff together. Add more in! Normally the edits I see need to have footage chopped out in order to increase cohesion but yours needs more put in. You know what I mean? There's just random shots of shit in there, like the wake behind the boat and the firefighters, etc. You need to fill those ideas out with more footage, otherwise the whole piece is too jumpy, even for a reel. Honestly you could bump up it up to three or four minutes just by filling in some of those gaps and the video wouldn't seem any longer for it.

Other than that, loved it. Nice work. Cheers!

I totally get what you mean man! I got a ton of more footy, I just need to find a longer song. I think it'd flow alot better. Thanks
