Beaver Valley could have the sickest park in the east

I was at beaver valley the other day and their park is halla sweet. it's on a long rolling run with lots of choices and sweet features. I was not hitting any jumps and i was getting 8 or 9 features in my run, i could have easily got 12 or 13!

now the takes offs are kinda small and the landings a little flat, but with some more time and experience i could see the beaver with the best park on the east coast of north america! no joke, they may need to put in more cash and hire a new park tech who could do it (the guys there are good though!)

Props to the beave!

it's sick, blew my expectations away... it's on such a long run.... lots and lots of rails, a C box that spans like 50 or 60 feet.. its giant, a fun Wall ride, spines, step down, tables, big, medium, and small features... its really fun... I dont think it's near best park in the east... or ontario for that matter, but it is lots of fun......I would say MSLM, Blue, then the beav.

you guys need to learn how to read.

i clearly said it COULD be the best park in the east. with the afformentioned updates i would put in.

read it all then try to flame you flamers.

im not saying beaver and blue arn't sick but there hills aren't big enough to beat out the resorts in vermont of tremblant

what are you saying man theres no way beaver could ever be the best park in the east, have you seen stoneham, avila, tremblant and so many more

i think he means ontario but beaver didnt have the best park mslm had the best out of anyone for sure and blue was right behind them lakeridge was killer this year to.

blue mountain NEEDS the park to be in the orchards. take up the whole damn thing!

it'll never happen.

if you have never been to beavers park, don;t rip it. it is on a super long rolling run, and they could have 15-20 featuers in a line and have multiple lines, if that is not sick i don;t know what is. and to whoever asked if i have ever been to blue's park, yes i have, i am the main builder of blue's park

eat my rail.

beaver has a decent set up... the problem they have is jumps. the run is too flat to have any good ones. they have one good natural landing (that i would NOT want to over shoot) that they tried to build one good take off for... awsome... but the inrun is WAY too flat. on a hot sunny day, there is no way you can make that landing... and on a sunny day with clouds in the sky... you will be comeing up short one run and over shooting the next. don't get me wrong though... i had a GREAT time riding that park the one day i was there... and i think they did a great job with what they have, but for a pro level park... the run is just too flat to do it. for a really fun park.... its great.

BAMMM... hahah that was a burn and a half!!!

Beaver is awesome, only problem in its progression is the lack of organization at times. mind you i have been outta the beaver scene on a regular base for a bit, but i was there before march break and it was fun as hell. i would love it to take over all of exhibition with the halfpipe (that was short and open for like a day). I'm definately pro park pass, not only would it get small kids out of the park, making it more or less safer, it would keep people informed about basic park rules, and hopefully pump a lil extra money into the park and only the park (mind you im not totally aware how it works at blue, so these are sort of idealistic ideas). the freestyle program is definately holding some ground down there too. i helped coaching at xmas and 8 year olds trying 180s, and 10 years olds stomping 3s is pretty sick.

man hill size has very little to do with it... if you look at any slopestyle course in the ex games they are all about the same length as any park in ontario... the park at blue is sick, and it goes 1/4 of the way up... some hills in ontario definately lack hill space. but yeah the park at beaver is really sick because 1, steve jarret the owner of sbc media is a member. and 2, the griggs family, whos son alex i am good friends with lost thier other son andy a few years ago and they wanted to make the park the way andy would have wanted it so they put in a fair bit of money and have a fair bit of pull in the ski club.

dave, if they had thir jumps up top using the natural landings and putting in a bunch of snow to make them bigger (the landings that is) it could def be a pro park.

i would like to be there full time but blue pays me more and has more budget to make snow and for cat time.

beaver is going to need the park pass after that kid died in the "pro" park below the half-pipe. normally that money goes into paying increased insurance but i don't know what it's like at a private club for that sort of thing.

that kid wasn't even in the pipe or park when he died... he was just skiing way below it... aparently. but yea i still think speed would be an isue. the setup is sick though, and im not gona lie... it is a more fun line to hit than blues. blue has a choice of jumps... or rails... but you only get 4 features in a run. at beaver, there is lots of choice, and its a lot of fun. i did almost hit 4 people in my half day of riding their park...

there is a lot of controversy as to where exactly he went out of control and all that, unless your in direct contact in the club as to know someone who knows then different rumours have been in the air about it. i was there that day, it was bad. first weekend they had the "half pipe" open. its hard at a club because the things aren't build necessarily to attract people into the park. there is no market for just the park. it is the family atmosphere and seems to have a lot to do with who paying for what at times. but beaver is really getting better with the park stuff, mind you they have been talking about the park for years before actually getting some stuff done. the halfpipe was put on a hill too close to trees in my opinion, and i dont think that enough people had any idea of what to expect with the pipe, if that was an issue in the situation. there were also jumps a lil further down on the run towards the sides that may have been an issue. but that is all spectulation in relation to the incident, so unless you actually know about it, i suggest you keep your mouth shut.

yu are all wrong on where Andy died..... this is one of the saddest stories i know. I am one of andy's brothers best friends, and andy died in a car crash, whith hos brother driving because he wasnt wearing a seatbelt. the fact that some of you automatically think it was a snowboarding related accident is quite disheartening, its sad too because his brother blames himself despite the fact andy would have been find if he had choosen to wear his seatbelt. and loved to hang out in the park, and was a super nice kid, his family put alot of work and money to make that park the way andy would have wanted as a memorial to his life. so stop running your mouths and talking about shit when you dont know the facts, and and respect the fact that a family put up alot of money to make that the sickest private park i have ever heard of. and honour the fact that it is a memorial to a guy who lost his life because of a stupid mistake

wear your seat belts

i was talking about the kid that died "below the halfpipe" at beaver. I am not uninformed on the subject... and neither is dan as far as i know... seeing as an old friend of mine was his coach and a good friend of dans also coaches with them. i heard the week after the accident happened from the kids coach that he just fell. he said that it happened WAY below the half pipe, and the kid was not skiing the pipe. he was a racer and was skiing fast with a friend who was in front of him. it was first thing in the morning, the friend heard a noise, turned around and the dude was dead. it is a horrible story, and i feel terrible for everyone involved, but my point was that it had nothing to do with the half pipe.

oh my bad.. i was a little intoxicated when i wrote that last post and i thought you all were talking about the guy the park is named after...

They are just starting to set-up the park again this year, and they have a lot of new hits, rails and boxes, and different jumps set-ups. it will be pretty sick this year.

The kid died of a jump that was set up below the halfpipe, his helmet broke his neck me and my friends where the people who got the ski patrol for him because his friend was trying to wake him up and was yelling at us to get help. It was pretty sad but to clear it up it did not involve the halpipe it was about a 15-20 foot table further down the run.

I agree...the park is so sick....jumps were big and different styles the whole way down...maybe lacking a little in the jib department....but still very welll done...props to the park staff...

the huge c box is the gayest thing ive ever seen in my life. i ride at beaver too

you've probably seen me, i usually rock light blue pants and a brown jacket

ya it's icy and un-fun...
mslm is rediculous, but beaver is so sick! iunno if it compares to tremblant or killy, but with time and effort, it could definately rise up cuz it's got a perfect run, a chilled vibe, and tonnes of $$$
