Bear Mtn over Xmas

So my family is planning a holiday to the US from NZ for xmas and new year. Many skiers ride Bear? And anyone going to be there around Xmas and NYE? Also where is good to go out at night in Big Bear Lake?
 
Just there. Only have 2 runs open (all artificial snow), 1 park run and 1 bunny hill. 20-25 minute lift lines. Been sunny with no pow storms in sight. Probably won't be fully open until mid january. Literally no real snow... none.
 
meh even when they get big storms it is usually gone from southern exposures within a week, part of being in the high desert.

once the temps get below 50-60 during the day they will blow the hell out of snow. i expect them to be fully open before xmass.
 
40 minutes away you got all the night life you can ask for. Also when bear's park is out in full force there are few that can top how much fun it is.
