I don't think I've ever heard of an actual physical bear attack in town before, sure.. everyone I know has either ran into a bear on a bike in the park or skateboarding on the valley trail at night, but never an attack.

Looks like a tourist got attacked in his hottub.

On another note, the people going from 80km/h to zero and stopping in the middle of highway 99 to shoot photos of bears are getting really annoying to deal with. Not to mention dangerous, seems like this year is already way worse than past years.

Dont know if it was last summer or the one before i read a story bout some tourist stopped at the side of the road to take pics of a bear. One of the cars had a dog in it with the windows rolled down so the dog jumped out and attacked the bear. Meanwhile a cop showed up and since the dogs owners were there he shot the bear. The owners of the dog were charged for not having their dog on a leash.

i heard that this year was worse because the bears have been feeding on the wildflowers they planted along the highway. especially earlier in the season when there was snow in the upper valleys this was holding them down there

^This. Bahahaha.

Almost as good as the "bear broke into my house, ate my groceries and shit on my bed" story.

I almost hit one in the bike park few weeks ago. You just never know what you're going to find around blind corners. :(
