Be smart when you drink, please..

A freshman here at Penn State went missing this weekend after leaving a frat party alone. Students, state police..everyone's been searching for him since it happened and they found him dead, an hour ago, next to a building I go to every day. He was pretty drunk according to his friends, but "not enough to injure himself". Apparently they were wrong..They found him near a stairwell on concrete; he fell 15 feet and experienced severe head trauma. Who knows how long he suffered.
Guys, PLEASE be smart when you get hammered. Or at least have someone sober to make sure you get home in one piece.

Damn RIP
Always drink with friends, and go home together
it may suck to be a DD but you can save peoples lives

that really sucks that dude died.
that being said, i actually like to be the furthest thing from smart when I drink...after all, that's kind of the point...

ha! i recently just ruined a friends night cause i got super drunk and sick, feel like a dbag. atleast i got home!RIP

seriously, thats horrible :( RIP

not a claim, but a similar thing happened to me on my birthday, march 17. I got really smashed and ended up leaving the bar I was at in boulder around 1 and walking up Canyon alone. I ended up being found by some people in the bushes up Canyon. I had 8 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, lacerated spleen and a fractured hip all on my left side. Bruising was terrible and i had some scrapes on my head. I was pretty much blackout from 9pm till i was put into the ambulance at around 2am. was prob a drunk driver but I am to blame as well for being an idiot.

best advice I can give I guess is to allways keep your wits about you.

nobody seems to be sure what happened at this point. ive heard conflicting stories, but in the pit of my stomach i feel like something fishy happened. but im really hoping thats not the case

That happened to some dumbfuck kid at my mall. He tried to slide down the banister, caught his foot at the end, and went head first off a 3 storied parking building. I think he's alive but in a coma. Worst park was his buddy had time to grab him by the sleeve but couldn't hold his weight, that kid must feel shitty.

And this is what happens when we live in a society that glorifies a dangerous substance like alcohol.

It sucks he died but I feel no sorrow for him. You take your life in your own hands when you decide to drink. If you choose to go past your limits then you should face the consequences. I've never once been put in a situation like that because I have self control. People should start teaching their kids that.

Still sore from making you look like a retard in your last thread?

Anyway, yes. If me not drinking til I pass out every time makes me a pussy then I am one. While you're out acting like a retard forgetting everything you do, the intelligent people will be enjoying their nights.

if youre going to a bar or club and you say that you are DD, you get free appetizers and regular drinks, plus youre at a club

maybe that doesnt go for most bars but a lot do that.

be smart and say that you are there to make sure your friend(s) get back safe, and people will respect that. they might give you a drink but they know that you arent there to get drink if you say it confidently.

and RIP

I refuse to believe this bullshit. I honestly feel like that's just an excuse that's been said so many times people begin to believe it. If you have self control you should be able to control all of your decisions (up until you get black out drunk)

I've been piss ass drunk before plenty of times. I've made stupid decisions like getting in fights, sleeping with the wrong girl. All the typical normal stuff. But hey! That's the point of drinking. Lose those inhibitions for a little bit and enjoy the ride. But I've also been put in to many situations where I made the decision to do the right thing. Ask me to drive a car or even get in the car when I'm absolutely hammered and I'll tell you to fuck off. I see a cop when I can barely walk and I straighten up and turn the other way. It's not that hard to think to yourself, should I really be doing this? I know the difference between something stupid and trivial I'll be able to laugh about the next day and something that could land my ass in jail or even worse.

my roomate was super good friends with this kid in highschool. he's really bummed right now and unresponsive.

I don't know what to do!

my friend went out with friends and got hammered and when she wanted to leave with some friends in a guys truck, no one would let them. then finally a guy parked behind them moved his car and they left. at 2 am they were 3 reported deaths and one sever injury. the truck flipped a couple times and destroyed the cab. i knew two of them, and this happened 2 days ago

sorry to hear about that.

I'm really smart when I drink. For instance, this summer, instead of driving to a party (I don't have a licence), I biked. Snuck out around 10, fully decked out in reflective pants helmet and headlight. Good time ensued, smoked 2 bowls, downed like 5 beers. oh and this was at a lifeguard's shack, so we played beer pong on a diving board (epic). decided it was time to peace at 3, got suited up and was going pretty well until about halfway home. Keep in mind this is a tiny town, so I didn't pass a single car. anyway, I got kind of tunnel vision and rode for a while in the moonlight, super fun. started swerving over the centerline, then I guess I crashed into a telephone pole. anyway, I was alright, didn't really feel like it was me, kind of dreamstate. somehow made it home

funny thing was I didn't have much of a hangover, but the bump on the side of my head from my fall really hurt. still fun, probably do more smart stuff like that again.
