GOD DAMNED MOTHERFUCKING BULLSHIT SYSTEM!!! ok, i know this is day old news but give me a fucking break!!! this bullshit is taking all the fun out of college football!!! OKLAHOMA SUCKS!!!! I know this!!! We (CU) played them, and we were leading for quite a bit of the game, we almost beat the 'Number 1' team!!!! and we sucked ass this year!!! I'm gonna have a coronary if Jason White wins the Heisman too.

I think USC is better, but saying OU sucks is one of the stupider things I've heard lately. You don't know shit about college football.

if you say you were beating them for quite some time you are an idiot. up until their loss, they had only trailed their opponents for a total of 6 minutes and some seconds through all their games.

but yeah, the bcs is in need of a change. what it will be, i dont know.

I really can't believe how badly professional sports analyst ride the popular wave of college football. People really fail to put into perspective the entire season. Humans are swayed so easily and that is apparent in dropping Oklahaoma in both polls. They have absolutely dominated their competition, and get beat by a team that was predicted in the pre-season to contend for the national championship. They lost a couple games when they're quarterback was hurt (Roberson is a huge part of the offense). USC loses to Cal. Jason white sucks??? Ok before the game versus k-state he had 41 TD passes and 6 interceptions... those are RIDICULOUS numbers. I think he had 1 or 2 ints in the last game though. The fact is that Oklahoma played the worst game they could have possibly played, but they have still dominated their competition this year with a fairly difficult scheudle.

 
yeah but between USC and LSU, they shouldnt have to decide, two great team like that and only one of them has a chance at the national title, thats bullshit for ya

Actually I believe technically the national champion at the end of the year is the number one ranked team in the AP poll. But I don't think you'd ever see the AP vote for a team that didn't win the national title. USC just has to live with the fact that the PAC-10 is a weak conference this year. They didn't play nearly the schedule that Oklahoma did in the Big 12, LSU played in the SEC, or even Michigan and Ohio state played in the Big 10. Washington State was the only competition in the PAC 10. I think the only argument you can make is that Oklahoma did not win their division. But then again, conferences like the Pack 10, and Big 10, don't even have a conference championship. It's all very hard to puzzle out, and maybe the BCS isn't the best system. But a purely human based system is worse in my opinion. The human polls factor into the BCS. In the end, a situation w/ human polls, computer polls, and some sort of 4 or 8 team playoff format would be best.

 
graveteck, you are close but you kind of undercut yourself. yeah, the pac 10 wasnt its strongest, but any of those teams could beat the other just about anytime. and where you undercut yourself was that you said WSU was the only competition. well Cal beat USC. i agree though, they didnt get the national champ bid because the strength of schedule. they got like 4+ rating in that category while OU is less than 1 and LSU is just over 1.

The reason I didn't mention Cal is because they shouldn't have been much competition for USC. They were 7-5, that's an ok record, but they lost to Arizona, the worst team in the Pac 10. However, I will give them credit for beating Michigan State.

the BCS has been the controversy ever since it started. playoff system is a bad idea, diminishes the quality of the regular season games. Is there a good system... maybe but there will never be a perfect system. And USC will be shown for what they really are when Michigan trounces them.

There is not another conference in teh nation as far as football goes that is as difficult as the big 10, just count how many teams in the big 10 were ranked this year. no other conference comes close.

Ohio State and Michigan State in top 10.. iowa and purdue are 13 and 14,and minnesota is 24, michigan state was, not sure if they still are, Wisconsin and Michigan state were also in the top 25 for a good portion of the season.

 
playoff system is the way to go. it works for all the other divisions in college football. plus it wouldnt dimish the regular season games because there are so few games that you would pretty much have to win all your games to get into the playoffs making every regular season game importent.
