"Perhaps Ellis’ most startling act occurred on May 1, 1974, when he tied a major league record by hitting three batters in a row. In spring training that year, Ellis sensed the Pirates had lost the aggressiveness that drove them to three straight division titles from 1970 to 1972. Furthermore, the team now seemed intimidated by Cincinnati’s "Big Red Machine." "Cincinnati will bullshit with us and kick our ass and laugh at us," Ellis said. "They’re the only team that talk about us like a dog." Ellis single-handedly decided to break the Pirates out of their emotional slump, announcing that "We gonna get down. We gonna do the do. I’m going to hit these motherfuckers." True to his word, in the first inning of the first regular-season game he pitched against the Reds, Ellis hit leadoff batter Pete Rose in the ribs, then plunked Joe Morgan in the kidney, and loaded the bases by hitting Dan Driessen in the back. Tony Perez, batting cleanup, dodged a succession of Ellis’ pitches to walk and force in a run. The next hitter was Johnny Bench. "I tried to deck him twice," Ellis recalled. "I threw at his jaw, and he moved. I threw at the back of his head, and he moved." At this point, Pittsburgh manager Danny Murtaugh removed Ellis from the game. But his strategy worked: the Pirates snapped out of their lethargy to win a division title in 1974, while the Reds failed to win their division for the first time in three years."
 
haha yes the doc ellis story! pirates baby dude was legit. ahh i cant remember what nba player it is but one of the old timers was an acid head and is still somewhat stuck in a trip he played like 20 years of nba basketball while tripping on lsd. i will get his name later or im sure someone on here knows.
 
uh bill walton was a dead head and probably played on lsd once or twice but not all the time, and his career was mad short because of injurys
 
it would suck to be batting against a pitcher on acid that can throw a ball that fast with that much accuracy.

i dont think walton ever played high on anything.

he was a big proponent of the "hippie" culture, but he also played for wooden in college, who was so straightedge he nearly kicked walton off the team for facial hair or something, and from everything i have ever read, walton was the consumate professional while playing. what he did on his free time is his own business, which is how it should be.
 
thats right noooo dude read his book. my friend read it and said he tripped allllll the time and if you trip all the time you just kind of are constantly tripping.

 
it stays in ur spinal column, and apparently if u adjust ur back, u can start to get a trip, my english professor 1st semester would tell us when he would trip on LSD, and shrooms and smoking weed all the time, he is fucked up. He talks about sex all the time, and he has this little black book, and he draws abstract pictures in it. He told us one year he was teaching at a high school he just started drawing on some girls test he was grading, and the girl brought it to the administration and said there was a sexual reference on it and he got fired haha
