baseball and lacrosse

why do lacrosee players hate baseball players, i am a baseball player and i dont hate lacrosse players, actually i think lacrosse is a sick sport. the only thing i dont like about lacrosse is that a lot of good baseball players switch to lacrosse and suck at it. i just was wondering why you lacrosse players hate us.

because most lax players used to play baseball and lax is a rougher sport and figure the baseball kids cant take the pain, i have no problem with playing baseball i just cant stand watching it

yeah good call, but for most kids i dont think it has anything to do with not being able to take the pain, there a things in baseball that are just as painfull as anything in lacrosse, there just isnt as much of it. like taking a line drive to the face, or getting hit with a 90 mph fastball, i dont know what you think but to me thats pretty painful

And to the person that mentioned getting hit with a 90 mph fast ball, you have a better chance at getting hit with a 90 mph lax ball. At least when I'm shooting. Last year I broke a goalie's cup with a shot (who's jewels were luckily ok btw) and a defenseman's arm. Not to mention all of the hitting.

I hate lacrosse players cause they stole the damn track locker room, those bitches. Track is the sport you have to be in best shape for, nobody gives us respect but its cool. Its just fun to hang out with friends and have some running in the middle

Where I'm from (maryland) everyone plays lacrosse from the time they walk until college. It's kinda a big fraternity, and it's such a small sport that it everyone is connected somehow, wether you played against or with them. Most people just feel that baseball is slow and not exciting. I have a ton of respect for baseball players, it's really hard to hit a ball going that fast. People feel that because it isn't a macho sport then therefore it is pussy.I know alot of cool kids that play baseball and if I was from somewhere where lacrosse wasn't so popular then I probally would've been a baseball player and a really bad one at that.

.

its just like why do people make fun of soccer

i play lax and its definitely the most painful sport, especially if youre a goalie like me

These aren't anti-establishment ideas, these are Pro fucking peace ideas-

to the kid that said he broke the goalies cup with a lax ball. nice work, but people do get hit a lot in baseball. a year ago i had my braces knocked off of 2 teeth from getting a line drive to the face. and im also a pitcher and ive broken a kids arm and cracked a kids helmet so, i guess thats the baseball equivilent to what you have done in lacrosse

what do you mean you need to be in the most shape for track? have you played any other games? try rugby and then say you have to be in the most shape for track.

it real shouldn't matter, to each his own. it just makes lax players feel tougher about themselves.

I can honostly say that lacrosse and rugby are definitely the two most physically demanding sports. I used to play both, but I had to quit rugby because I couldn't take the punishment from both ends. Any sport where you constantly have to run up and down an 80 yard field while picking your ass up off of the ground after taking hit after hit, deserves to have that title. You want to talk about physical shape, you try to play varsity midfield for one year. I do have a lot of respect for you track runners though. Baseball is cool and all but don't try to make it sound like baseball players take more abuse than lacrosse players, because you're wrong.

as casey powell once said (hes a world renoun pro. lax player) 'whimps play baseball...morons play lacrosse'

the challenge is to be yourself in a world that is trying to make you like everyone else

^great, live by that, worship it, think about that everytime you hold your stick in your hands. play lacrosse for your reasons. if people can't have an open mind to other sports, that's their problem. saying bullshit like that does nothing but make someone feel tougher. baseball is fun. it wouldn't be america's passtime if it wasn't. being a tough guy shouldn't be what habing fun is about.

What do you guys think baseballs future looks like? The MLB is the worst run league of any professional sport (financially). Kids are quitting teamsports for individual ones (like skiing). Lacrosse is spreading incredibly fast. I was wondering what it is like where you guys live, for both sports. At my school and the other schools we play we have about 50-60 kids come out for varsity, another 30-40 for jv and the rest play fresh/soph, which is usually about 30 some. I've met and played with some really good kids from New England, Colorado, Ohio, Michigan, and many other places at summer recruiting camps. With Major League Lacrosse in its' infancy I think it could only go up from here.

lacrosse has taken over most of texas and soo in about 10-15 years could rival footballs popularity, baseballs just flat sucks good drinking game though
