Base repair

Yesterday, on First day riding my new Opus, i slid over some rocks and damaged a base right by the edge. No edge damage. Is it too risky for me to do it by myself, or should i go to the shop, considering massive storm is coming in 2 days and they wont be able to do it in time. Also, any tips on how to do it?Will this work:

I would repair with holemknol FX strips... Never done it before

the size is about 1cm x 0,5 cm, and not core-deep

but an very small inner part of edge is exposed...
