alright so I have some rossi ghettos 174 mounted with jesters and I was a woodward copper seshing the foam pit and at the end of the day I noticed that my base was coming apart right where the two diecut pieces meet under the heel piece of my binding on the inside edge. The edge is cracked right next to where the base is coming apart and looks to be pulling out too. basically one piece of the base is sticking out about 1mm.

this all happened early july and the next day I took it to the shop i bought them from (recycle ski and sport in frisco, but i did buy them new) the guy at the shop was kind of a dooshe and said that warranty wouldnt cover it, even though the skis were under 7 months old and they have a 1 year warranty and wanted nothing to do with the ski. it seemed to me that he just didnt want to deal with the whole warranty process.

so basically i was wondering if this has happened to anybody else, if there is a way to fix it, or if i could get it warrantied. I can post pics but it might be hard to see because it is so small.

try and post pictures, I have a hard time figuring out exactly what's going on. As far as dealing with the warranty you could call up Rossi and see what they can do (their customer service it usually pretty good), tell them that you already took them to the shop and the guy was being an ass (I'd put that nicely) and see if they can help you. If not, go to another shop and see if they can fix the problem ("we" might be able to tell you if it's fixable or not - but it doesn't hurt to ask around) if you get nothing, you may have to buy a new pair of skis (which sucks, but that's the price you pay for freesking). But, I'm pretty sure Rossi can help you out, like I said they're usually pretty good about that kinda stuff.

i tried taking pictures but my camera wouldnt focus because its so small but here is a picture i got of google images of ghetto bases.

on the top ski in the picture where the black diecut piece meets the white stripe on the inside edge the black part is raised up about 1mm and the edge is all fuct up.

yeah i already picked up some jeronimos for next season but it would be legit to get these warrantied.

yeah, call up rossi and see what they can do, if they can't do anything then at least you have a baller ski to ski on already so it's no big deal (except it does kinda suck that they only lasted 7 months).

take it to a real shop and ask their opinion. just because you didnt purchase them there doesnt mean they wont help you out with the warranty process.
