Base File Guide above 1.5 degrees?

Anyone know of a guide that goes to like 2 or 3 degrees. Keeps the edges off of rails. Plus if I do a 2 on the side edge it would be nice to keep the 90 degrees by matching it on the base.

If you're concerned about rail performance do not sharpen your edges. That said if you want to keep em sharp for carving get a 1 degree side sharpener and a 2 degree base sharpener. Most online ski race shops or larger local shops will have them.

I work in a shop, still wanna hook myself up with some personal ish. I did a 2 base on the machine 2 side by hand and gummy stoned under the foot, its a perfect blend of everything. I guess I could just 1.5 if I need to, would be nice to be able to do it sans machine.

Seriously! Nobody hits rails with their skis perfectly flat on them, and if you did you would catch an edge on every little chip, ding, and scratch. Another degree will not change the way it feels on anything other than carving, and it will make that more slippery. With rails, your edges are either sharp (no matter what degree) or dull and round. Dull and round slides nicely, and sharp (again, no matter what degree) likes to catch and be much more sketchy.

You should just make your own guide, you should be able to make one fairly easily out of wood and just build another when it wears out
