Is there something i could use? I need to get that wipe on wax crap off. I was thinking rubbing alcohol... any ideas?

ummm go ride them on snow???? i would doubt rubbing alchol would be good for them but i really don't know. why are you trying to get off the wax?

go to any hardware store and get any orange based cleaner, like goo-gone. it will cost you about a 1/10th what you'd pay for actual ''base cleaner'' from a ski shop, and it's the exact same stuff

Do NOT use citrus base cleaners. Theyll dry the HELL out of your bases man. Just hot wax them a few times, and scrape before the wax cools. Thatll get em real good.

Base cleaners are fine. Just do not do it every time you ride. Also make sure to wax the ski right after. An orange cleaner will work fine, or you could spend $15 for a bottle of 'real' base cleaner. If you do not clean your bases from time to time the wax will not stick correctly, especially in the spring.

 
yea base cleaner is fine. it's like 15 bucks for a bottle i think, check your local ski shop.

^^Base cleaner DOES dry out your bases. that the POINT. You just have to give them a good multiple layer saturation wax when your done, instead of the shitty little 5 minute waxes you normally do.
