seamless, wet fiberglass at a low angle. when you barefoot, the waterline is below the balls of your feet (when forward), so you just slide right up the jump.

sometimes not at all. sometimes it's absolutely fucking brutal. water isn't soft at 40 mph. eventually you kind of learn how to fall, but you'll still get your fucking bell rung every now and then....come up disoriented, seeing stars with the wind completely knocked out of you...after you managed to kick yourself in the back of the head since you didn't get tucked before your face hit the water.

some chick got paralysed just recently because she crashed right before/on the jump...i guess she caught a toe right before which sent her in to a faceplant....on the jump. so yeah, she smacked her face on a solid piece of wood/fiberglass at 40 mph and fucked her world all up.
