Banned on NS?

Yes it is, usually people will get banned for starting threads that shouldn't exist and are just horrible, but it doesn't happen often. really gotta do something bad. Some mom's ask Doug to ban their child because there's too much swearing on the NS...
 
banning happens pretty often... ive been perma banned once but somehow got out of it and recently just got out of a week long ban. then ive asked to be banned a few times around exam time just to study.
 
yeah, they ban you for pussy shit though. i gotz teh ban for posting that trololol video. i think they are all just power corrupt
 
I got banned for a day for making a lame joke about a dead jazz musician.

I was perma banned once. it was terrible. I hate myself every day for what i did.
 
I've been perma banned 3 times, had some week longs, a couple weekends, and I think a month.

And a lot of bans that were later un-banned because I was falsely convicted!
 
Got a 24 hour for using saying a homosexual slur that is established as not acceptable. I deserved it.

i still have a banned account from back in 2002. i thought it was the funniest thing ever to post tubgirl. whatever happened to tubgirl?
 
I recall some pretty epic bannings over the years... My account was banned years and years ago because a friend thought it would be funny to post some shit in the hot girl thread (back when it was in NSG)
 
What's with banning for using a homosexual slur? Especially when in this day and age it's more generally used for someone who is being a dumbass. Ill be honest, that is some weak ass shit. There's way more offensive shit going on unscathed daily. You guys are getting soft
 
I think it's legit but I find it weird how many other clearly oppressive things get said and just because it isn't black and white to most people it flies. I see so much racism/hate speech on here and people just hide behind the excuse that it's 'their opinion; I'm entitled to it'... If it's racist an oppressive, your opinion is offensive and should be cause for banning imo, if we're going to go by the model that bans people for that particular f-bomb.
 
sounds to me like people just need thicker skin. i agree with a majority of the moderation on this site, but shit like that is just weak.
 
I have better things to do than delete the slightest trivial shit..when people cross the line then it's dealt with however the mod who sees it sees fit

is it possible to request bans for a certain amount of time? i have an exam on friday and i'm contemplating having my ns account banned so that i pass.
 
Yuppers. Also check out http://getcoldturkey.com/ it lets you block a website from your computer so you could do facebook and stuff too, and also not even be able to surf NS. It's pretty strong, I couldn't figure out a way to get it to turn off and if you uninstall it it still stays on for the time period you previously chose.
 
i've been banned twice. the first was for asking too many questions about what happened to TWA, that was a 24 hour ban. the second time was a 2 week ban for posting a picture of a cat wrapped in duct tape.

my good friend is a mod, apparently people get angry when you ban them, this one kid said if he ever met him he was going to stab him in the face. So then that kid ended up moving into my best friends house here in colorado, so when he and the mod met in person he asked if he was going to stab him in the face.

awkward silence. lol.
 
well, seeing bishop's rant about not "whitewashing" the site because people werent stoked on that stupid ass first drop ad with the girl rubbing her tits makes all of you look like contradictory fools then, doesn't it?
 
word, so it's okay to cater to the LGBT community, but not to the people that like to check out NS at work and at school. makes a TON of sense.

I have been banned once and once only.I think it was like two years ago, on my old account. I posted a rick roll link claiming it was a video of mike wilson tripling chads gap, but the page you got sent to didn't allow you to close it, kept playing the song, and filled your screen with rick astley's face. Pretty sure I had to cut the power to my computer to get rid of it the first time I clicked it.

Never got any responses to that one because it got deleted so fast, but I know I got a mod with it because they couldn't have known it was a rick roll without clicking the page and getting stuck on it : )
