If you are taking the time to read this, you probably have also put off things you should be doing rather than cruising Newschoolers. Something new that you might find useful. My fellow mods might hate me for the increased messaging, but.

We have a new tool that allows a time limit to be set with a ban. So, if you have homework, need to study for a test, give your girlfriend/boyfriend some quality attention....... you can request a duration from a mod to temporarily ban you.

An on that note, where is my self ban button?

i might ask for a temp ban the weeks of december. exams this semester are what will pretty much predict my career, so i need to do my best.
 
Don't request it from me, ask Papasteeze. Why it's difficult to not log into a website and get work done I'll never understand... have a little self control guys. Or have a little adderall?*

well most of us have built an addiction so we cant just go cold turkey otherwise we go into withdrawal
 
I can see this being very helpful in the coming weeks.
One question is does the person requesting the ban also request the time limit?
 
i should probably do this right now because im supposed to be writing a midterm paper due tomorrow a.m......but nah, its for philosophy so who gives a shit. NS is a better use of my time
 
Where is this button? I have a Midterm math test tomorow and if i fail i'm telling my teacher its NS's fault hahaha

haha, I have an english essay I should be writting thats due tomorrow... and english is the only class I need good grades in to get into the college program im looking at. oh well NS is to much of an addiciton.

and can someone please ban me ASAP tonight and into tomorrow morning (10/30) and ONLY UNTIL THEN? my quarter ends tomorrow and i gotta get my make up in.
 
I want to believe that i have enough self-discipline and control that i can just ban myself from the site when I need to. But this will be the last resort...
 
we need a button on the manage my NS area where we can put a time limit and ban ourselves.

that would have been so helpful to me and i might not have had to drop my calc bc class.

Hahaha this is so funny, they should make a button that makes your computer temporarily blow up and then it reassembles after a certain time.
 
This is a really good idea. I need this for the rest of today until sunday afternoon. Boring homework is so easy to be distracted from. And it's a paper that requires internet use, so I will see NS on my favorites tab the whole time.
I agree on the self ban button. That is a really really good idea.
 
that would be interesting if you could put a timer and ban yourself for a certain amount of time without needing to have one of the mods do it.
 
Just got over one of these sessions. Got so much work done on a subject so boring I wouldn't have survived it without NS normally. Good idea.
