got 2 good runs but then everything got exposed and it starting raining, i had a nice base shot right by the edge i'm thinking about getting ptexed, fucking skiing there till after thanksgiving, i just needed to get that first day out of me.

i got a few nice runs in along with a little damage to my PEs but i'm not too worried cuz i've rocked them on rails so much it won't matter. but it felt sooooo good to be on a chairlift and drop a few small cliffs and slide a few boxes

its not that hard to repair your bases, go grab a p-tex candle, light it up and go get them rocks again!

but when they take your edge and your base with it its a little harder to repair. Oh and i will be up there next weekend for round 2 skis vs rocks.

 
haha the new 2mmx2mm edges on my moships saved me from a edge blow out on the first day, i had a rock goug right by the edge and it went down deep stoped short of core (thank your %66 thicker bases) and it just ended on the edge and didn't rip out. so glad they went to a beefer edge. but this little day makes me want to wait till they get like 3 more feet to go up.

this is the most worst shot i got i've already filled it with wax but i don't like the soft spot on the inside of the edge so i'm thinking about ptex. thanks baker.

Yeah, seriously tyler, you don't want water getting in there (especially if they're new motherships!)

A ptex candle is like $1. Get all the wax out of the hole, get a metal scraper, light the candle on fire and hold it on the scraper so the flame doesn't get too big. Then hold it a little above (not too high) the hole, and let it drip in until its filled. THen blow out the stick, let the ptex cool, and once hard scrape flat with the metal scraper! Bingo! Fixed base! I've had to fix my skis so much, but I suck at it (always get carbon all over in the ptex, looks like soot.... cause it is i suppose)

yeah definately watch out for dripping p-tex though, that stuff doesnt produce little stove burns..it like burns through your skin

I hopfully get to use a Petex gun next week some time but if i don't get around to that i'm going for the candle. wax is a nice protectent till i get there tho no ridding for me till they have like 3 more feet. oh well skis are ment to be skied not looked at.

did anyone really really hate that drop close to the top of 8. my ski needs someone to sympathise with. (oh and i laid down first tracks on the non-existent park);)

umm i dug out the wax and its wayyyy deeper then i first thought i was pulling out small strips of wood with my knife when i was getting the rest of the drit out. i'm not waiting for the ptex gun, i'm getting a candle today. how did you saw the best way to keep the carbon off it was? or should i just go with a fucking Hot Pink Petex for battle wonds?

I was up there tuesday this week and it was a lot better than opening day, mostly cuz no one was up there. Didn't get any rock shots this time, but I stayed mostly to the right side of chair 1, pan face, austin, etc.

Shouldn't be bad this weekend if they get anymore snow. Don't know what all will be open though.

true...I have a really old pair of non-twin tip skis that I used for teaching last year and I'm keeping them around for rock skis...

well if i didn't sell my old 1080's i couldn't have gotten my bindings. sucks but oh well really not worried just makes me relize i have stong fucking edges and its going to take alot to really hurt these skis.

odd, i was at whistler on 4frnts and i got a hugge gnarly core shot.... oh wait, those were Grant's Ar5's my 4frnt's are still pristine
