BAD JOBS

k so christmas break, i was offered to work this week in a warehouse for minimum wage. thought, alright, why not? couldnt be too bad and i'll pay off the christmas presents i've bought right? wrong. literally sitting in the same chair for 8 hours doing the same thing over, and over. have to assemble some pet owner starter kits shit. there is a constant, incredibly loud buzzing in my ear from above, and at first i listened to my ipod, (which i was told i would be able to do when offered) but they said i couldn't by lunch. my ass hurts, and i have to wake up early yo go do it tomorrow. there is i think 16000 kits to be assembled, it takes about a minute per kit. i'm not going back after thursday. i thought, there are actually waaay worse jobs out there, and imagine kids in sweat shops do the same thing for like 10 cents.

so NS, let's here the worst jobs you've ever had to do.

caddie for some dick who made me do a bunch of annoying things then pay me 40 bucks
work as a dishwasher in a resturant when i was alone becasue the other one never showed up and i worked from 5pm to 1am
first jobs suck man it gets better

I've spent the last three summers cleaning up turds off the bathroom floors and puke out of swimming pools. I work at a public pool and it sucks soo much

My first job I had was at a gardencentre lifting bags of dirt into peoples car all day. And made $5 45 an hour to do it. So shit. Stay in school haha

quit your bitching or quit your job.

building pools. like in-ground ones. so much manual labor involving concrete, enormous amounts of digging, shoveling tens of tons of gravel, it was absolutely awful. I looked forward to the few days that we spent doing openings, closings, and liner replacements even though they sucked nearly as much.

work camp as a junior forest ranger for a pittance. it was literally a labor camp for 17 year olds that the ministry of natural resources could get to do its dirty work like widening access roads, filling in erosion run off, dismantling beaver dams in swamps, clearing ditches of brush in native reserves. when we went down this one road in the trucks, the horseflys would literally buzz around and follow the trucks till we got out.

half the camp kids were trouble makers that the families wanted to get out of the house for a summer and the other half were socially inept and their family thought it would be a good chance for them to build character and confidence.

the camp virtually split into to kinds of cliques. there were also no girls, not until the end when we traveled 5 hours to sudbury for a year end party with all the other labor camp groups.

the only thing fun was building spawning beds for pickerel which meant throwing rocks in the river and making big splashes and dismantling beaver dams to see how fucked up the area looked after the water levels dropped when it was able to move freely down stream.

my best job was fishing albacore tuna on the pacific for 16 hours a day at 14 days a time without seeing land. some would hate it, but i loved it out there.

having a shitty job and thinking its shitty really depends on your attitude towards it.

yea i havn't really had a shitty job. I guess working at canadian tire kinda sucked balls, but what kind of job do you expect for a 15 year old that got put into the auto department and was expected to help customers when I didn't even have my license yet haha

My worst job wasn't really that bad, it was just the situation that made it pretty bad. I worked as an orientation assistant at my college 2 summers ago. It payed a $1700 stipend and sounded like it would be fun and easy work, and it was...but it just wore on me terribly.

The work was from 8 in the morning all through the day with no breaks (besides eating lunch and dinner with the students), and then it went anywhere from 11-2 depending on how long the late night activities. Given the work wasn't really work, just like tours and activities and class scheduling etc.. The worst part was that I'm on the cross country team too, and I was training at about 75 miles a week and I had to run in between the end of the day (11-2) and be up by a little after 7. After about a week I was sooo dead.

Could have been better could have been worse.I should have done a little more research on the job before I took it, knowing my training.

My first job was a bag boy at sobeys, which was alright but really not that great.

Best job I've ever had was working in the tech shop at sport chek. Learned sooooo much about bikes and skates from that job, plus a sick staff discount and awesome people to work with made it legit.

Worst job was being a ski coach. The head coach I worked for was just a douchebag, nobody liked him including all the coaches. The kids hated him even more, but as a result I have an awesome reference because everyone involved with the team loves me, and he wound up getting fired I think hahaha.

1st job: Working as a photographer at an art gallery, i would take photos of the art for them to sell online
2nd job: Working at my local ski hill as "race crew" basically set up the timing and b-net, so slack, only worked like 3 or 4 hours a day and skied park or whatever for the time left and got paid 70 bucks a day... later on they forgot when i was there, so i got paid for weekends that i only skied park or fucked about with friends. great job/

future job: working in a camera store... cant be that bad considering i like camera shit.

so yeah, im jet to have a horrible job. btw im only 16 soo there is a lot of time to get a nice nasty ass job.

working at dunkin donuts. I had to close by myself. I tried to lift a garbage bag full of coffee grounds and muffin bottons up to throw into the dumpster and it exploded on my head. It was 1:30 in the morning, i was 16 and i had to be at my other job as a camp counsler at 7am, i burst into tears and never came back.

worked at a red lobster, i was always smelling of those damn chedder bay biscuits and everyone was always asking me to bring them some

i used to wash dishes. Had the same thing happen to me as the other kid in the thread.
Another time washing dishes I worked a double (10 am to 11 pm) but we had a private party that the managers told us about an hour before closing that came in at 1 AM so we got out of there at 3 AM.

now i work in a pharmacy on the side of school, set my own hours and start at 11$ an hour.

Being a cashier at Wegman's is horrible. Worse than cleaning bathrooms, roofing, city park work, and landscaping.

it sounds like he's in highschool give him a break...and it isn't hard to get a job at all if you know the right people. I quit my cooking job in September to work solely on my own stuff, since then, the place I quit from has tried to hire my back twice, offering more money each time, and three other kitchens got my number and made me offers to work their.

My first job was at the movie theater, I worked their for three years and quit a little over a year ago, they called me back in September to ask me to apply for the management position that just opened up because the theater has gone to shit.

Point is, there are plenty of jobs out there for the people willing to go get them.

i went to work for a family friend in mowing her 10 acres, she had some family problems, she has cut my hair since i was 3 so she has always been afriend, so for all her problems she asked me if i wanted to mow her acreage so i said sure. she asked how much i should be paid she goes "should i do $10 an hour" i denied the 10 and just said just do minimum wage. so i head over to her property and use her lawn equipment a john deer riding mower, and a round up pump, her acreage is thick thick ass bahayah grass cause it hasnt been cut in a month so i said to her that this is going to take a while since the thick grass will need to be gone over twice and it will strain the mower so she says okay. when using the mower i sacrificed my dignity cause that mower made me look like a fat tard.I do the job and it takes a total of 5 days and 20 hours of work. i also said that she needs to pay me for the products i bought for her mower blades, and oil change so thats about $45. so a total of $200. i ran the bill over to her work and when she saw the total she flipped out. she thought that the job would have taken only 6 hours to do and that i should rethink my bill. i told her about the grass and the mower maintenance and she yells and tells me to leave her business. later i called to see what was the problem with the bill, she accused me of doing a horrible job and that i did not round up the weeds, and that i couldnt have worked that many hours. she flipped out again and i gave the phone to my parents she then accuses me of lying and then accuses my parents of lying. so weeks past since the phone call and no payment, and i need money cause i have no legitimate job, because there arent any in this area of florida. so i send a detailed bill of all the hours spend and what time i did maintenance and so on. a couple of days later she calls saying that she sent a check in the mail. i sit here now and no 200 dollars have arrived after 3 months of doing the job. after this time i am pissed and have just recently sent out a copy of the original bill and no response. and after talking to her co workers they said that she has gotten into drugs cause she came into work with some sort of powder around her nose. i dont know what to think cause she i fairly wealthy, and i did this job because she was a family friend but now im goin to take her to court, cause a job is a job

good, sue that bitch. she sounds like a spoiled bitch with no concept of the real world. get judge judy on that case.

selling dippin dots and frozen lemomade at a six flags. standing for 8 hours. in 100 degree weather. no shade. and 30 minute lunch break. first and only job so far, i just moved and quit

Working on a farm all summer, 7 days a week, no Les than 10 hour days. Doing hard physical labour. Building barns and random farm work. Then after all that, not getting paid. That was the worst job!

BHAHAHAHAH bro, i feel your pain! i am doing the exact same thing! Except i am getting paid 20 and hour because its "specialized work" yeah right...i could have done this job when i was in third grade! All i go is glue, tape, trim and cut... BRUTAL! Here are my suggestions if you work with anyone else... i am lucky enough that i do. Play would you rather (insert bone her questions..) I work with some weird ass dudes, hall have done extended time in jail. interesting answers lol ask about jail time, i am sure someone will have some stories!
Best of luck to you, i know you will need it! i was about to make this tread myself so K for you for sure! all i have left is a 6 hours day and then a night sesh tomorrow night, to brush up and get a few shots before i head out to winter park for a week! thank god...

Bussing tables at a restaurant. Really not that bad compared to some jobs, but I just thought it was horribly boring and dealing with people's old food is gross. Plus a lot of people are rude in restaurants for some reason. I hated that job so fucking much.

you sound like a whiney bitch, welcome to the real world. my worst job was probably bussing tables, or weed whacking, really not the bad i know lol

yes. done today, never going back there, even though i know they are going to ask me to. finally get to ski, and gonna go apply to like 10 different stores hopefully skiis and biikes

mine was a tower guard at a water park on a native reserve. I pretty much told kids when they could go down the slides. I only got paid minnimum which is dumb becdause i have half my life saving coarses I also got no bonuses and i worked 10 hours a day in the sun it sucked dont work on reserves althoogh i got free paintball and gokarting because they where also on the reserve

Yeah my first job was at a ski shop haha

My worst job was working as a survey taker over the phone. Seasonal jobs suck. I'm currently unemployed because my little bike shop is closed for the winter. :(

sorry dub post but, my favorite job is actually my current one, im a liftie at Alyeska AK. Its fuckin dope as hell. i sit around, push some buttons, sometimes stand out side and hold the chair, and burn some runs throught the day. Also i worked at this bad ass motorcycle shophttp://www.motoquesttours.com/[/b]

First job was a lifeguard at a city pool at 15. It was pretty fun. Granted I had to clean up all the turds cus the girls didnt want to. But other than that when we set up and broke down during after hours all we did was fuck around and do backflips off the deep end chair and run up the slides.

Me and me buddy also had fun harrassing kids on the slow days with our bull horns.

Fun times but the managers were dicks. Got paid $8 an hour.

Second job was in a mechanics shop. Chad the head mechanic was fucking great. He taught me a shit ton about cars and had an old 70 Plymouth Roadrunner in the shop that he had since he was in highschool. On the off hours he would let me take it around the block and hammer on it a bit. Got paid $7 an hour.

Worst job was working for some asshole insurance agent. It was mainly supposed to be to help him mow his shitty fucking apartments he leased, but he would lie about the work id be doing, and then make me do some absolutely retarded shit like picking up dog turds in his yard, or sorting his POS fucking pedal cars. He treated me like shit and bitched me out whenever i did something "wrong" when i actually did exactly what he said to. After two years I asked for a raise and he flat out said no, i had a shitty work ethic. I dropped everything i was doing and walked 8 blocks back to my truck and left. Never saw him again.

Best paying job i had was cutting trees and destroying buildings for a tree/demolition service over the summer. I got 10 bucks an hour and worked 40-60 hours a week. The work fucking sucked though, everyday id come home soaked in sweat, shower, drink a gallon of any liquid i could find, and then pass out on the couch. I learned alot though and it kept me in incredible shape though. Itll prolly be my job next summer too.

I worked in a dairy production factory this summer. We made and packaged Silk soymilk, and a bunch of other dairy stuff. TERRIBLE. It wasn't uncommon to be covered in milk an hour into my shift, making the following 8 hours very uncomfortable, especially when the temperature in the factory averaged 100 degrees. I still can't stomach the smell of milk.

Any job not requiring a degree, but that's my personal opinion.

Grocery store was meh,

reffing kids soccer was pretty legit except 13-16 year old girls + soccer moms, that combo is a fucking nightmare, but you just gotta show those cunts parents who's boss.

yeah i also umpire baseball games, and when i do the like 10 year olds who get to call themselves "AAA", the parents are fuckin retarded and yell at you no matter what call you make.

Both the jobs i've worked have been really good, building bikes in a bike shop, and now getting 15 an hour for coaching the Manitoba Park And Pipe team for Canada Winter Games. I get to ride pipe and park for money pretty much ahaha
