I’m going insane. The snow here in the PNW is nonexistent at the moment. I have a brand new set of skis in my room waiting to be used. I’ve already built a rail for when it snows, and now I’m going to build a ramp. The only hiccup is that I have no idea what kind of carpet or turf to use on it so it’s possible to slide on. Any recommendations???

Any kinda of grass turf and then fence lattice on top should do the trick. I know when temps drop you can’t use a hose but if it’s warm enough still use your hose to wet it. Msnow is also an option and if you don’t wanna spend so much cut it into thin horizontal strips to save material. Turf on its own works too but I’m not too familiar with the specific types

Just come to my neighbors house haha he has it decked out over there. Must’ve spent like 750 bucks on they msnow alone

Msnow is the gold standard if you wanna invest in some. It’s lasts a hella long time. Then go steal a PVC tube, a little woodworking and you’re set for years

If you have an air compressor and pressure washer at your disposal you can construct a simple snowmaker. One night of cold weather is enough to set up a rail.
