Backyard setup, a bad idea?

So I made it a goal to build a backyard setup, I finished it waited for snow and finally got to use it. I use my skis from forever ago as beaters, that are a ton smaller than my normal park skis. So I've been practicing some new tricks on my rail. The problem is when I get to actually go ski my skis feel heavy so it takes a while to get used to my regular skis. I'm a ski instructor so my park time is limited and the weight differential has been holding back my riding. Any tips on what to do besides use my regular skis in my backyard, anybody else have this problem?

Add weights to the end of your skis, or add wood to simulate swing weight? Are they like 50cm shorter or something to make that big a difference?

My regular skis are 174 K2 revivals with griffon schizo and the back yard skis are my k2 bad seeds 149 with marker 7.0 bindings

buy a used or cheap ass pair of skis about the same weight and height as your normal skis that you can beat the shit out of im sure you can find a cheap pair they dont have to be high quality just something to get you down to the rail.

It almost sounds like your not getting enough speed.. Are you?? How bigs the drop in?? Most of the prob of backyard set ups is No Speed. It will almost feel like your weighted down.

lul don't put weights on the end. just use you regular skis cause the rails in the park at your mountain are worse for them then your pvc pipe in your yard.
