Not super bad, but if I hit it on the edge of the pipe I'll get a shot to the core, but if I land a couple inches onto the pipe I don't think it's ever happened to me.

Haven't been able to use it this season yet though

I cant get much speed to get onto the rail because my yard is pretty much flat. When im going too slow i can sometimes hit my base on the open end of the pvc pipe at the front of the rail. This has happened 4 times on my rail but only once to me. I no longer use this rail because it has caused too much damage.

its just 2 by 6s with a piece of ply below the pvc pipes and the middle is some siding i found in my basement. they probably have it at home depot, its white and plastic- y haha
