Backyard Rail

Yoo,

Looking for a PVC or so shotgun rail, back yard setup - before I set about building one, looking to see if anyone's looking to ship one?

Good man. I have a decent, box currently I use to skate, I'm wondering if some adjustments would see it ski-able. I'll upload shortly.

Build one yourself. PVC is dirt cheap, 2x4s are dirt cheap. You can make one solid as fuck with minimal effort. Shipping a pvc rail would cost more than it takes to build it. Could literally be as simple as screwing a pvc pipe into a 2x4 and screwing some feet on it. Could bolt them on, could make it shotgun. Could throw a 2x4 in the middle just below the height of the pvc and bolt it to that as well as the bottom piece.

Check out the "Build A Jib" cult or just by some pvc and 2x4s and get weird.

Some of the ideas are kind of lame. Some of them are pretty sick. There are a TON of different ideas, plans pictures, and whatever else. You can follow one you like or just use them to get a general sense of what you're doing. Or just wing it.

I have a bunch of pvc in my garage from when I stopped using it for rails. If you were closer I'd just give you it and some 2x4s.

/thread

but seriously, its actually really easy to do it yourself. It can't cost you more than say £50. Also, how the hell did you find this thread in this far out regionals forum theabortionator

NS user @Mag has one, maybe speak to him if you don't want to build one and just want one shipped to you.

How much would the shipping on something like that be though? Seems damn expensive.

It would cost a fuckton(it would only really be worth collecting it(and you'd need a trailer). It's (IIRC) 2.4m long and heavy enough that's it's difficult to move far on your own(inb4 pussy)

It'd be far cheaper to just build one yourself, I built a few before realizing I really needed to reinforce it^. It's attached to the wood using anchor bolts, as screws just aren't wide/tight enough, and bolts are impossible to screw in unless you have arms meters long. But it's good enough to withstand stalls from side on, so I can't think there's much that'd break it.

Im gonna be building a summer setup this year, how much did you fork out for the drop in / what specs is it?

I spent quite a lot on mine, but thats just because I used plywood to make walls for it so it would be like a little house type thing. I spent £60 on the turf, tried to scavenge as much of the wood as possible but still ended up spending over 50 on that. I already had the tools so that was fine. Took around 20 hours start to finish, including one wobbly ass rail that is way too sketchy to hit.

iirc the "box/skyscraper"(top of the drop in) is 1.2x1.2x2.4M, the ramp is just two 3.6m 2x4's I believe, then a single flat piece and then a small lip(I made it adjustable just by adding small struts which I found very useful).

Also it's worth using bolts for attaching the skyscraper to the ramp, that way it's transportable.

think it was £80 for the wood and turf was £6/M(I forget how much I bought)

I'm in the middle of getting the materials for something similar to this. Where is the best place to get butchers grass or something similar?

mine was only 4.99/m^2, not bad imo.
