Backyard DFD's

So my plan for this summer is to make a DFD for the backyard. Im pretty experienced when it comes to backyard jibs, so im not worried about my ability to build it. I was wondering how many people have constructed an actual DFD, not so much 3 rails set up in such a way, but an actual DFD that was made to be a DFD.
plan: 10ft down, 5ft flat, 10ft down. single barrel pvc or shot gun pvc.
I was also wondering what the average angle of a DFD is. I want it to be challenging and NOT mellow at all, but at the same time not something that my skis will catch on every time. For reference, ill be setting it up urban on the big hill in my yard, not on flat ground.
please post pics if uve made one yr self.thanks and +k for helpfulness.

sparknotes: how many of you have/ have attempted to make a solid DFD. And whats the best design to make a DFD?

if you have a ski hill really close too you that has a legit DFD then drive up there, find it, it could be in storage though so call ahead of time, then measure the angles and lengths. then go from there.

The one at my mountain has 15degree angles and all the parts are equal, 8 ft. It's allright I guess. Make the two downs longer than 8.

15 degrees???? I was thinking mayb 20-25 degress, but idk. Im going to start building it next weekend so we'll see how it turns out.

these are of the 15 degree one. sorry that the pics arnt great.

i actually would prolly go to more bc this one isnt the best but idk, its personal preference

thanks. +k to you sir....that last pic gives you a good idea to how much of a kink 15degrees really is. ill post pics here once i begin building a week or two from now

This is WorthDaMoneys DFD in his yard and it looks super sick. he wouldnt mind answering a few question.

^ tthats mine. it works legitimately. i have a 12 ft down, 6 ft flat and 12 ft down (did it like that because the abs pipes come in 12 ft sections and it was just easiest to cut on in half and then buy 4 other ones to make it a double barrel all the way down)

as for the angles, and height, i could measure it tomorrow aftterschool

here's an edit frrom saturday that will give you a good idea of the amount of time you would have on the rail and the amount of speed you get, etc. :

sorry for double post, but i forgot to say that i made it in 3 segments (the 2 downs, and the flat, because i had the two down rails from last year) i find it easier that way to transport it from the garage to the hill. plus i put all my rails in the ground because it makes it so much sturdier. they are about 8-10 inches in the ground and they dont wiggle side to side (at least that i know of lol ) and never once has the rail fell out of the ground, so putting it in the ground is definitely a MUST.

also the angles of the kinks is completely upto you, but if you still want the measurements from me, ill do that tomorrow, but mine is pretty mellow.

i hope this helps, let me know if you need any more info on top of the measurements and what ive just told you

YEAHHH!!!! +K!!!! thats what i was lookin for. I plan on making something very similar to yours very soon. Right now, im pretty sure i cant put it in the ground, but im only going to use it in the winter so that doesnt matter much. If everything goes as planned, it will be ONE fully connected rail that i can disassemble into the 3 main parts (probably 10,5, and 10ft)......sort of like yours only with plywood on the sides and not in the ground (if that makes sense?)

yea makes sense. why the plywood on the sides? its not necessary and it would just be extra money. and yea for the winter you dont need to put it in the ground. and do you still want those measurements?

no im good. ill figure it out. As for the plywood, ive found that the rails and boxes ive made that HAVE plywood are a lot sturdier and safer (eat shit less). Without siding, skis can get caught very easily on the supports and it sucks most of the time falling that way. And it wont cost anymore $ because almost all the materials will be free becasue im having a new garage put in and the contractor guys have tons of perfectly good scrap 2x4s and plywood lying around.
