Backpack excess strap length

I just got a new Heli pro and its got loads of (too) long straps on them. I really have a craving for taking my scissors and cutting them off.

What do you guys do with it? Just cut off the extra length and burn the ends with a lighter? Keep it on for future sale? I just feel like its gonna dangle in my way when skiing..

Roll up the straps into one or two inch lengths and double or triple wrap some sturdy elastic bands around the bundles. You never know when the extra strap length will come in handy. :)

This.

I have the same problem with one of my Dakine backpacks but I just don't worry about it.

You always want to try and avoid cutting apart your backpack, because at some point in time you may need to cut the straps in the backcountry.

Avoid it all costs, unless you truly believe it is of no use.

thanks +k

thats what i had done, only i wouldn't know why i would need to cut them in the backcountry. In this case I would need a knife, I think it would be better if i cut them already and put them inside the backpack to start with :)

I guess I'll leave them on for now, the only thing I already cut is the snowboard holder strap >:)

Cut them a little longer to what you'll actually use then double the end and sew it. Dakine make all of their straps ridiculously long, especially the waist belts.
