backflip

get a steep jump to help you throw it faster. and get lots of speed its better to over rotate than to underroatate.

also make sure the jump is nive and packed and wont give when you go off.

and commit dont half throw a backflip and then chicken out and land on your head.

just throw hard.

you probably need about4 feet. if the jump is steep enought but i would recommend more just incase.

Steep lip, 5-6ft of air. MAKE SURE YOU COMMIT! Its not a tough trick, try practicing gainers (forward moving backflips) on a diving board. All summer I did this and when it came time to huck a back it was really easy, almost no fear. Also, when in the air, if you can remember this, extend your legs if you are rotating too fast, pull them in all compact like if you need to speed up. I still seem to over-rotate on big tables, I think I just freak when Im upside down so high and tuck, oh well at least you know what to do if you can control your fears. Thats standard backflip advice in a nutshell, actually its pretty thorough, but the key to the trick is commitance. Once you huck it youll be wondering why you havent tried it earlier. Good luck.

Lol today I really wanted to do a backflip and the only suitable jump was not really suitable (not much lip at all, only kicks you up 4 feet with maybe 15ft of travel). I like backflipping off lippy jumps but whatever, first time I land it a little back but its cool, so I go for another, get maybe 90% around, catch my tips and land in a slide head first (like in baseball). It was sweet tho, absolutely noooo pain, skis stayed on, poles in hand, finished the slide and got right up. It was quite fun, but before I was so afraid of comin up short. Of course if it wasnt so slushy and the jump was bigger Id probably be lying down right now and not on this board but here I am. Future backflippers do be careful but I just wanted to say how sweet it was that I didnt kill myself, learned something and had a stylie fall.

you dont need much at all. the one i did it off first was only 10 ft or something. you dont need as much speed as you think. do it on a trampoline or a diving board first. it helps a ton.

Turning is for when stuff gets in your way.
