Backflip tips

I threw my first backflip. It went pretty well but couldn’t get the land and lost some smoothness at the end. Any tips? Also I know this is a bad jump to do a first backflip, it was my only option. I’ll probably go to seven springs next week, which has way better jumps.

Solid attempt.

your take off was too late. On the lip (you are backseat by the way), your knees are bent and only after take off you extend your knees. Remember to square your shoulder and flip with the hips: it will force a take off to get more inertia on the flip

You need to pop then chuck. Lots of people make the mistake of chucking while still going up the lip. Not saying that is what is happening. Solid attempt though.

only reason you didn’t land was because you didn’t look for the landing.

you should spot the flip a little before half way through the rotation, then have your vision follow the flip as you continue to rotate.

you should be looking straight ahead when you land, not at the ground.

VERY proper takeoff, especially for your first backflip.

jump isn’t great for it, but you were super close to getting it! keep that same takeoff and keep your eyes and head moving through the flip.
