Backflip question

Pretty new to park skiing just landing my first 3s. I know this is kinda early to be thinking about but whats the next progression after a 3 is it a 5, or a variation of a 3, or do I just send a backflip? Also I have alot of experience with backflips off skis, but I dont know if that matters or not.

just go for the sw 2160 trust me bro

do whatever you feel is right to do next, OP. everyone kinda branches out in their own way, some people are way more comfy with spins than flips or whatever. personally i learned 3s, corked them, got those to 5s, corked them, then thought my first invert should be a flatspin or rodeo but backflip ended up being waaaay easier

if you are really comfy with backflips and youre feeling it, try one on a good jump for it. it feels like doing a gainer except with much more weight on your feet. but the jump helps the flip start really naturally. it's all in the hips with backies, pop well and bring those hips around and look for the landing

Find a poppy jump, get familiar with the speed and just try it if you're already comfortable with backflips. I'm convinced people were doing backflips on skis a thousand years ago, it's so natural

when i first learned 3's i got wayy to excited to learn the next thing and ended up getting hurt a lot and when i went back to 3's i was scared and sucked at them consistently. get really comfy with spins on trampoline (both ways) and i my opinion if i had to start over, I would not do 5's until i can right 3 too but thats just my opinion. stay safe

This is the most factual statement. progression kinda just comes naturally and push yourself in ways you feel more comfortable

I don't think you need to have just one trick for next. If you keep spinning you can keep adding to that, spinning more or getting better style and different grabs.

If you see a jump that works and you've been feeling the backflip? Always a good trick to get down. If you've done them outside of skiing that air awareness actually goes a long way. Both backflips and 5s are unlocking something kind of. It can be a tough road to figure out getting form 3 to 5. Also first backflips can be a scary send. Doesn't really matter what you do first but both are worth learning.

I remember when I was progressing into trying 5s and was over rotating them so I just sent for a 7 instead lmao, good times. But yeah you should go for 7s man then you’ll be able to get that 5 rotation down easier at least from my opinion but that was like 8 years ago.

My question is what’s the next progression to go for after getting 360s?

I would say get comfortable with the basics, lern some sitch 3 do some styled out 180s or try a 540 and just get the easy stuff locked in and stylish
