Backflip on tramp

Hey guys sorry I had to make this thread I searchbarred and looked through all the backflip threads but I really need help with my specific situation. I haven't gotten much time on a trampoline, but I've had a few short sessions where I was focused on trying a backflip. The first time I didn't really try it, and the second time I just couldn't get my body to do it. I almost landed on my head twice, but I just couldn't huck it. I think it's only my mindset, because I have a broken back, but I really don't want that to stop me. I can throw frontflips no problem but I guess backs just scare me. I know this is stupid, but I would rather just try one on skis first. My local hill is getting to rent a bagjump next week which I'm really stoked about and I really want to progress, but I would really like to do a back on a tramp.

10/10K for all advice, thanks I really appreciate it and +K for bumps.

For me, the easiest place to learn backflips was on a divingboard. If you can get access to that, then go for it. If not, when I first learned them on the tramp I focused on landing in a pushup, just to get over the fear of getting my head around. Then just wind up and go for it, and try to flip a little further each time.

before you just huck it on tramp, take a half session at least and work up to it. do a few backdrops to get used to losing your vision and falling back. then do some back pullovers to feet, then to back. with the back pullover to back, you are essentially doing a backflip. get used to those, then start standing up a bit more each time doing them. if you've already flipped you could probably do it from here, just get used to jumping UP first and then tuck it in, don't just heave backwards. if you want, you could have someone spot you for the first actual flip you throw.

just compress your knees and throw your head back but NOT your neck keep your neck tight and stiff and do NOT go for a lay out. but as long as you that theyre way easier than front flips

I can't backflip on snow yet but I went to the pool with some bros and they just said look and lean back to backflip, spot that landing. I was a little hesitant at first, little nervous to, that's natural, but if you really wan't it, you just have to shack up and go for it.

I really don't see how you can't backflip on a tramp, though. It's not hard at all man. If you have access to a pool with a 1m diving board hit it up one night, make sure your backfliping with your back facing the pool so you can use the spring to push you around. Maybe the different setting will help.

I learned backflips on skis before backflips on tramps, and they both feel the same. You have to jump high, and generate the force for your flip from your chest, instead of from your arms, look out at the horizon first and then look back and tuck if you want to get the flip around faster, spot your landing and open up once you spot your landing, put the landing gear down, and if on a tramp, land with your legs straight and bounce again, if you land with your legs bent, you'll get thrown off and might fall.

you got it bro just commit to the flip.

1) uproach the lip with moderate speed and your legs a shoulders with apart

2) as you pop focus on leaning back and looking up at the sky.comit in this position till you spot your landing.

3) as you spot your landing slowly un tuck (if you tucked) and you will land just fine.

i got my first about 3 weeks ago and this is what i do..... good luck and post vids

getting rotation on back flips on tramps isnt all about throwing your head back, most rotation comes from your hips. throwing your head back is actually bad technique. just focus on throwing you hips up to the sky then get your tuck in. if u commit then it will most probably come round to your feet! good luck!

This helps anyways since Im hoping to try one soon.

Thanks guys! Everyone has 10/10K now I really appreciate the help!

Don't just try it on skis first. I know you probably just want to get to it, but with more preparation, it will benefit you in the long run. You want to be able to control your flip. So eventually with practice you can just do them like nothing.First, on a tramp, get someone to spot for you. Have them sort of pull you around. And then each time, have them pull less. And keep going until they don't even have to pull you around. So just keep throwing it. If you go half at it, they will just pull you around. And when you finally overcome the fear, they wont need to touch you. That's how I learned to backflip on tramp.

Then, on skis, just be patient. Don't be too eager to flip, but psyche yourself out. Go for it. Trust me, worst thing is that you under/over rotate and hit your back/stomach. Better than going half at it and landing on your head. If you commit to it, you will get it, I promise.

ahahah thats great. Nice icon btw
