i know theres other threads on this but i didnt see anything that really helped. i just need detailed advice from someone who can consistantly do backflips and has the form and stuff down. i can do fronts and lincolns and even a 360 backflip (all on tramp) but not just a straight backflip. the only time ive even tried a backflip was on a tramp where stopped rotating, landed on my head, and my knees bent down and hit me in the face giving me a nice black eye. do you really lay your body out backwards til u see ur landing or do you throw it and get as tight together as possible? thanks, i really wanna nail this trick

the only reason you would huck a backflip is because of lack of airtime. if you want to do a nice one, make sure you have some air, pop, and look way behind you towards the ground.once you see your landing, take out the landing gear and stomp. do this on skis and youre golden.

i can only do them on tramps but basically what you have to do first time is just pop like a mother with your legs and dont try to hard to throw it with ur arms, all of the rotation for a backflip comes from the legs. So basically commit fully and throw as hard as possible, as long as you get around past your head then nothing serious should come of it, and keep trying.

just sack up and go for it man.

not tryin' to hate or anything, but go build a jump in some pow and huck it.

honestly its this.
today i did just that a went for a backflip. couldn't have been easier. also as long as you do a full rotation you will be fine if you fall.

alright thanks for tips. i think i gotta just stop puttin it off and go for it soon, but ima try to get it down on a tramp first which i havent tried since the last fail

It sounds like you are having a bit of trouble separating setting the flip and popping on the tramp. A couple pointers: First off, be committed to doing it , don't plan on deciding at the last second. Second, separate the pop and flip. Get an nice bounce then as you start to go up set the flip. Like it was said above its all in the the legs once you bounce kick your knees up and towards your chest. Tuck them at first and once you have them down you can start laying them out.

wait so are u saying its easier to do it with your knees up versus laying it out? and how different is it on snow than on a tramp?
