What do you recommend for hiking up mountains how would you hike up snow shoe with backpack holding skis hike with skis on what do you recommend would be the fastest and easiest
 
By far the fastest is skins with skis on and an AT style binding. Are you just looking for early access to the lifts or are you looking to get into the backcountry and tour?
 
The main problem with snow shoes is you are packing your ski boots up somehow. Transitioning sucks, your boots are going to be like rocks when you put them on.
