Backcountry Cottonwoods Jacket

Anyone have any experience with this jacket? Been hard for me to find too many reviews on it but seems like it's got a lot of great features for cheapish (relative). Seems pretty bomb-proof but have heard weird things about the fit. I'm a tallish lanky dude tho, which is what it seems like the jacket caters too.

I know backcountry kinda sucks, so feel free to drop other gore-tex shells that don't cost an arm and a leg. Going to be resort skiing at copper for most of the year. Would be using this jacket for powder days, wetter days, and colder days where I don't plan on going into the park.

For $400..?? No. All these I've listed are under $300, all have the James Bond bells and whistles and they all have a longer fit to em. If I were you I would be scoping out ebay for a used 686, armada or burton jacket but if you want a new shell I don't blame ya.. Also, I would be recommending flylows gear but in my humble opinion their last seasons stuff didn't stretch at all and sucked to wear

But when it comes down to it, you wear what you like. No one online is going to tell you what you're looking for so buy what you like! fuck them!

Saw it for 279 on sale on their website recently. But thanks so much for all the recs, I haven't bought a shell in ages and feel like it's harder to find quality reviews for them than it is for skis. I probably just spend too much time looking at skis tho don't know where to look lmao. Thanks again, huge help!

I will never recommend the Cottonwoods purely because of how many fkn times I've seen Backcountry's cringe-ass ads on YouTube. Looks like a good deal, but at this point, I'm so sick of hearing about how it can keep you from getting wet in a shower.

Also, Blizzard should sue Backcountry for naming one of their jackets the "Rustler." The irony alone would be worth it.

OP, I would second the Trew Cosmic recommendation for a smaller brand. Flylow Malone or Quantum Pro would also likely work just as well, though not sure about how long they are. You could also probably get a 20k/20k NWT3K jacket for a similar price, and customize the colors, pockets, etc.

The ads are pretty cringe, but also the reason I know about their jacket as opposed to others. Ig they can afford to plaster it everywhere which sucks for the other guys. Trew cosmic looks dope though, thanks a lot!
