Backcountry Access Skins?

My buddy gets these for a deal and was wondering if anyone has any experience on them? I read they recently changed the material and glue. I found a couple reviews that said they were pretty nice, but just courious if I can get any first hand experience from NS. Thanks! +K

so personally I am not psyched on the BCA skins. They tend on the heavy side and the glue that they use leaves a pretty effed residue on your ski that can effect the slide if you are in some more effed up snow conditions.

i would push you towards these:

those are my personal fav. While BD makes some shit skis and shit bindings they really have a corner on the skin market. It is a bid more expensive but will last you at least a season or two more than BCA. BCA makes pretty good beacons and avi packs but the weight and glue are detractors enough that I stick with BD.

^agreed.

I had a pair, and they worked great for one tour a day. But try and put 'em on for the second lap and you're screwed. (Those were a few years back though. '07 maybe?) Just went out and bought some BD skins, and have been rockin those ever since
