Back Protectors

So I am getting old now and am looking to get a back protector so I don't get seriously injured skiing park or off piste. Does anybody have reccomendations on a comfy and safe back protector? Also, are vests better/worth it?

10/10 would recommend to a friend! in all seriousness I got one this season along with some impact shorts. I don't think ill ever ski without them again. 2nd day out I slid in sideways to a rainbow rail caught the front of it slammed right on my back got up and skied away like nothing happened!!

I can see it coming in handy in infinite situations

I've never heard of impact shorts. They sound awesome! What impact shorts and back protector do you use?

I got a slytech Flexi vest and Burton total impact shorts definitely worth the investment IMO

I ski with the poc vpd 2.0 back protector. My only complaint is that it gets really warm sometimes.

I was looking at these recently and am curious about the fit...what size are you wearing and how big are you if you don't mind me asking?

I also have the POC vdp 2.0 (black one, not the vest), I'm just over 5'11" and wear a size L.

It feels stiff at first and then the foam inside gets flexier after a short while (with your body heat) and you almost don't feel it anymore. It's pretty awesome.

The only thing I wish they had added is a chest clip like on backpacks and some Dainese back protectors.

I'm 6 foot and wearing the medium, the large would fit me better though

I have the Slytech BackPro NoShock XT Naked (the blue one with the holes). It is amazing. Super comfy. After being on my back for 5 minutes the material heats up and softens and shapes to the curve of my back. At that point, I cannot even feel that I am wearing it anymore. Apparently it hardens back up in the event of an impact.
