Back Flip to Death

So...Im pretty good on the tramp but for some reason i cant do back flips they just freak me out. But today i decided to go for it and...

Well it didnt turn out so well i landed on my neck upside down and folded in half, i went limp on purpose so it wasnt to bad. But my friends were watching and i heard them yell oh sh-t and they thought for sure i wasnt using my legs afterwards haha.

And cool story hansel/

Well if you get freaked out doing a backflip then doing it on a tramp was a bad idea. Almost all people bail halfway through so next time you should try it on a divingboard so you dont have a chance at killing yourself

Exactly what my bro and friend said.

But i can do them a little off axis. But i told them that is exactly what was going to happen if i tried one haha

my best advice to you is try a series of back handsprings first.you will get comfortable with the motion and also strengthen your shoulders...
you need to commit and convince yourself that you got it. the worst thing to do is just give up because not only are you hurting yourself physically but also mentally. i can't tell you how many times i've seen girls at my gym psych themselves out before hitting the beam/bars/vault/whatever and it just ruins them.

other good exercises to consider for this kind of activity are anything to do with stretching your back.

I really want to try throwing some into foam pits, because i didnt commit at all and the foam pit wouldnt hurt as much and i think i would have a better time commiting doing one into the foam pit.

backflips on trampolines scare the dickens out of me. to be honest anything on a trampoline scares the dickens out of me.

bummer you got worked, try it on skis, theyre easier i promise!

learn how to throw a back handspring! i promise you a round off back handspring back tuck to pit is the best feeling in the world...it helps you deal with timing issues and really helps you twerk your body.

I can't really do them that well on trampolines. I've only tried a few times. But I've tried some into water. Like with my back turned to the water, so its like a switch backflip.

I tried one on skis last season. I didn't land it but I got the rotation. The trick is really just to commit to the flip. If you have enough air time to spin and you throw the rotation reasonably hard you will be fine. I plan on trying some more this season. Also, its could to be able to imagine yourself flipping backwards. By doing backflips into tramps and water you get the feeling for doing a backflip.

I won't go inverted on a tramp at all. I'm so big that if I moved from the center even a little I'd hit the safety netting (only tramp I have access to is a round one with safety nets).

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try front flips first, just because you can cheat by moving one foot back to push yourself off, like the front flip in the I Feel Ghood edit. Plus I can get a front flip around off a few foot drop into water but I've never done a backflip off anything. I think I'll even do misty's and lincolns before backs honestly.

Ya i do fronts, mistys, and corks but i cant do backs, i cant do lincolns either.

And stillakilla i think i would honestly grind my face in if i tried that handspring thing. Im would kill myself on the ground the tramp helps me get air. so i dont die even though i almost did die.

you have to be really comfortable on a tramp before hitting that serious stuff, because you aren't landing on stiff ground, and the flex is usually what gets me when i land.

Just commit more. That being said I'm afraid as shit to flip trampolines. I'm fine doing them on snow, but on a trampoline they are scary.

I've always wanted to try those but could not figure out how to do them for the life of me. Although I never really tried too hard, maybe I should... That and run up a wall and backflip off are some things I've wanted to learn how to do. Or like back and front flips off the ground.

try it, its so awesome. u just have to focus and commit. Its not really that hard. And it does really help to geta spotter. I learned all that and so much more this summer and it feels so good. im not afraid of being inverted at all anymore. im so stoked for this next winter to come up.

im almost to the point of trying a double back and i would never try a back handspring haha. it just seems to be relying all on your arms to hold you which im just not comfy with. anyway, its all about commitment man, like seriously i cannot stand to see people try backs becuase it really shows wether you have the balls to trust yourself or not and if you dont it does not end well. as you said, thats what you talk your freinds would happen and it happened, now do it again and commit to prove that wrong. just please man, for the sake of your well being trust in the rotation and dont let go before you go over your head and can see the landing.
let me know if that helps, hope it does.

i was learning backflip 360s the other night into my pool off the diving board and i ended up smacking my thigh against the water. got the worst chinese sunburn and bruise to go along with it. so yeah i agree with how backflips can be death. nother cool story hansel. i want a cookie

i had to break out my alias just to say that ns consists of a bunch of pussys sometimes. no hate guys but seriously, dont be afraid of stupid shit like hitting the net.

Ya i need to commit badly. I commit on the off axis one but dont on the regular.

I think i have commitment issues haha
