I'm not a pro at them, but really setting an edge and digging your toe into the rail and pushing off of that helped me a lot. It's almost like you dig your toe in and turn your head and shoulders at the same time, then you push off your front foot/pop and your lower body follows your head/shoulders/hips.
A lot of people just told me to "look" harder. but looking over your shoulder does nothing if your lower body isn't really set up to follow through with the spin, which is when I'd do those really weird 180s/shuffle things. Get a wider stance so you can use your edge better and push off your front toe. That really, really helped me!
Also, if you have a wide box, jumping on 90 and then doing a surface swap back around to forward helps to get the feel of going blindside and coming around!! For me I used to get so freaked out going blind that I would sort of stop myself because I was a pussy/not committing. So that helped too!!
