Bachelor season pass prices

I don't know if the student passes went up too this year, but the adult ones are up $100 and that sucks!!! I wrote an email to Bachelor, you guys should send one too if you agree. Here's what I sent this morning:

Hello Mount Bachelor,

Would you mind telling me exactly where that extra $100 I paid for my season pass this year is going? It is to pay a higher salary for your new President? Or to groom XC trails? Or to pay for the "locals" events, most of which are for children, and none of which benefit season pass holders?

As a returning season pass holder, I am also annoyed that I have to pay an extra $20 for a new physical pass. You may not be aware, but season passes make excellent keepsakes, reminders of epic powder days and good times with friends on the mountain. I'd love to have another one this year, but no... I'll have to pay $20 for that.

How about all the "perks" that season pass holders get... 20% off at other POWDR resorts? You guys own pretty lame resorts, but I'm sure you knew that. Now that you don't have Alpine Meadows (thanks for taking that "perk" away), there is no way I'll waste my time or money at any of your other resorts. Then there's 10% off on coffee! and tunes! and tubing! Here's a newsflash: skiers who are on the mountain regularly probably tune their own skis! And don't sip cappuccinos while sitting around at the Pine Marten lodge! And don't go tubing!! (not at Bachelor, anyway)

Now, rather than go on and on about everything that irritates me about buying a $909 season pass this year, I'll give you an example of a resort that DOES provide value for its season pass holders: Heavenly. Here is a sampler:

Unlimited season pass: $568

Perks:

- Skiing and riding in the Nightlife nighttime terrain park

- Total of three FREE days of skiing or riding at any combination of Vail Resorts' four Colorado resorts: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone

- Allows the purchase of four $40 Buddy Tickets during the 2007-2008 season

As a comparison, Bachelor charges $341 more. You don't have night skiing, don't provide free ski privledges at your other resorts, and don't give my friends a deal when they come to Bend to ski with me. How does that make me feel like you want my business?

I don't want a direct answer to any of the questions I just asked, as I'm really just asking the crew at Mt. B to seriously rethink their commitment to the local community here in Bend. I hope to see some changes in your appreciation of pass holders during the upcoming season.

Thanks,

Lindsey Clark

Bend, Oregon

season pass prices at bachelor are RIDICULOUS!! especially considering you can get a pass to meadows for $300 a college pass to whistler for $300 or a colorado pass for like $400! and now part time employees dont even get a pass! bachelor goin down the drain if u ask me! and the new president even put it that "bachelor is no longer a mt its a destination!" booooo!

yay a destination! woohoo! all that means is more californians who can't drive in the snow

pass prices are ridiculous, i'm not getting one there this year now that i'm 19 and its 700. they say its because it cost more and more to run it, yet nobody else has prices like this. very disappointing, i'm sticking to meadows

didnt really read the whole thing but i go the gist of it and its pretty fucked up. them damn californainz!

well said, it is pretty gay the whole renewal thing, thats what getting a season pass is all about going in and taking a goofy picture with a hair cut you friend gave you the night before when you were passed out, but that cost 20 extra on top of the rediculous price to ride on mt bachelor's lifts that barly ever work.

I just bought the Holiday pass, where i cant ski on the holidays. it was still liek $549. It is the first season pass i have ever bought and it deffinatly hurt the bank account.

ya make a pass for $300 bucks and every oregon citizen will be riding bachelor.  colorado equals 80 gazillion resorts, thinning out, and competition. oregon equals two real resorts, no competition, and already packed lift lines.  heavenly has tons of competition and one less month of skiing than bachelor + you have to be with dirtbags from cali and south lake.  also, in 1998 the bachelor pass was $935.00 almost equals zero inflation over ten years.  if you don't like the pass price and want all your friends to come visit i suggest you move closer to your friends and live in icy ass colorado.

Bach is spendy. But there really isnt much in oregon unless your up by hood. Where i live, i have Willamete pass at like two hours away and like bachelor at three, plus some decent BC at an hour. So i bought my pass for bach. Yeah it was spendy. But its prob the best i can get in oregon.

just get a job up there, work 21 days and you get to keep your pass. even part timers get passes, just dont get fired. but i too think the prices are outrageous. WHen I lived in tahoe i would have passes for 4 different mt.'s for what bachelor charges..

THIS JUST IN: TAHOE HAS CHEAP SEASON PASSES: squaw valley= $1799.00 full season, apine meadows=$849.00, heavenly $568.00, kirkwood $529.00.

if the prices are more to your liking in california, GO MOVE THERE and leave this beautiful state alone.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GET YOUR DICK SUCKED IN CALIFORNIA? BECAUSE ALL THE COCKSUCKERS HAVE MOVED TO OREGON.
