howdy shralpers,

we added to the line up tonight..

the 36ft house box and the 36ft a-frame box are both on the hill now. got the guns cranking on the lower park, so we should have a BUNCH more snow to work with tomorrow night. the guns are cranking on the upper run as well and Accelorator should open tomorrow...so that means that we'll have snowmaking resources availble to start blowing the superpipe this weekend!!!!

call me stupid, but what is the difference between a house box and an a-frame box? Arent house, a-frame, trap, etc all the same way of saying up flat down box?
 
i believe a house box is shpaed like a dog house...ie. three angled surfaces to slide on. /-\ this is what it would look like from the front, like an a-frame but set up the long way
 
word. Im using a box like that for my comp, we call it "the barn box" (its painted like a stupid barn. 30 long, 2 wide, and two wallride sides angled like you said.

and duh, I suppose an a frame would be an up down.
 
see..where I came from they were always called battleships or trap rail/boxes. When I moved to Cali I found in SoCal they call'em gateways or houses.

so..we put out the 36ft battleship house gateway trap up flat down box last night

That clears things up! Lastnight was sick, I really like the C-boxes, they are really mellow and give room for some trickery in-between. And it was cold as fuck, really good for snowmaking.
 
you switching those up? I cant switch up boxes ever, (rarely rails anyways) but for somereason I have a harder time spinning out of and switching up boxes for some odd reason.
 
Not yet, some other kid was. Once you get locked on those its a slow and easy ride to the end. I think a lot of people have the problem of spinning off rails because you can't put your skis pressure on the side of the boxes like you can on rails. Its just total spinning momentum from your upper body.
 
To spin off a box, I think if you spin left and slide right foot forward usually, try going unatty to spin frontside 270 out. Then you can put more hot sauce on it.
