Awsome idea

So last year my two roommates and a couple other friends and I made a pretty sweet hip jump at the K-Mart parking lot in Big Rapids, MI

it had a 10ft tall take off and were getting pulled in at about 30mph and going about 50ft

After 2.5 hours the cops finally noticed and they told us to stop and gave us a warning

This year my idea is to get with meijers and try to hold a Big AIR contest in their parking lot some night

My plan is to have the Ferris State skiing/snowboarding RSO ask for permission/sponsorship for the contest to be held at the Big Rapids Meijers

What are things I could do to give meijers an incentive to help out/ be willing to put this on

and would anybody be interested in participating

the cost would prob be $15

Any ideas at all would be great also

thanks, scott

write up a really good waiver stating that meijer is in no way responsible for any injuries that may happen during the event

great ideas, any ideas on how we can show meijer that they would get more business or ways that this could help meijer get more business

Also how much would you pay to participate in this event

I am thinking of a 40-45ft step-up jump

thanks for the wintch pull in systems, i did not know any of the companies that made those

so this is very helpful information

So i found a wintch that would be perfect

except for the fact that it cost $2,500

i am going to doubt that they would let us demo one

just a thought is there a skate park anywhere in the vicinity? they may already have the liability / insurance to be able to hold an event like this there. meijer being such a large company corporate structure / rules /etc might be a hold up for ya, even though they are based a lil south of ya. i dunno just talk to the managers / owners of parking lots in an area and ask a lawyer or even a law prfessor at ferris to draw up a liability waiver.

I don't think there are an skate parks in the Big Rapids area, but I am not 100% certain about that.

As of right now we want to plan an event like this, we just don't know how large we can make it this first year. But the running idea is to have it happen the next couple years and attempt to make it larger over the next couple years.

As of right now nothing is certain on this event if it takes place

But if it happens it will be in late January to mid February.

We are attempting to create this brand new RSO(Register Student Org.) for skiers and snowboarders and if we get that to happen that is who will be putting this on

so we have to get the RSO started first which at the soonest will happen at the end of this semester.

As of right now you will have to just hope, and keeping giving me ideas for this event.

I will do what i can to get this event to happen and incorporate your ideas into it.

Thanks,

Scott P.

you will basically need a lawyer to write up the waiver and meijer will probably need their lawyers to ok it. Probably a really big longshot but I hope you pull it off.
