Awkward as hell

No matter what I do when I hit anything (jumps, rails, box's) I look so awkward when I do any tricks. There is not really any smooth style to it. I look like I'm trying it for the first time every time. Sounds like a stupid question but how do you stop yourself from looking so awkward?

Practice. Sure some riders are steezier than others but in general style is learned - the more you ride the better yours will become. We weren't all Tom Wallsiches overnight.

i'm not implying this pertains to you, but if you ski park without actually learning how to ski properly first you WILL look like an idiot.

other than that, as others have said, it's a matter of comfort which comes from practice.

Honestly most people develop a decent sense of style around 15-17 as they figure out their bodies and become more coordinated. If your 12 and lanky theres your problem. Get as good as you can now and when you grow up and become more accustomed to your limbs youll have dope tricks and theyll look good.

Just keep doing it. Once those movements become second nature they get smoother.

If you're thinking about it and just trying to make it out, it won't look as good as when you're throwing a trick in your sleep. Just keep doing it.

Also blasting some tupac or wutang and rolling with the beat doesn't hurt.

Open your jacket if needed because you're the man, tupacs in your ears telling you how it is and the park is yours to destroy. If that doesn't work it's a lost cause.

Thanks for the replies. And I love how everyone thinks I'm really young. I'm not young, just really awkward.

Please don't listen to this and open your jacket, you'll look like a jerkoff.

I'm about 6'3'' and for a very long time I looked like the most awkward as mother fucker in the park with my lengthy body. The only thing that made me look less awkward is time and practice. The more features you hit, the more natural it becomes. It's also a thing that you just have to embrace and realize you are who you are when skiing.
