Awesome Rail!!!!! what do i do? please help

Would have to go for this if it would work. You can always remove the Lag Bolts and store it easier, or put in a car much easier. With a Weld you can't removed the bases(Whatever you call them, I'm having brain fart) as easily.

you'll still need to digg it into the ground or else you'll have these nasty 2x4's sticking out, ready to wreck you....
If you wanna keep it foldable this is an Ok design...

here is what i would do: get some really fat wooden beams and cut two triangles out of it, mount them with pointy side up on the side of your rail, mount them using removable bolts.....then attach a wooden plank on the bottom of the triangle so you have a wide inverted T-support that's really slick, so no nast things sticking out and is still easy to make and to transport/remove....

just my 2cent, not trying to break down the other design, i actually have a rail similar to the other design and i've found it to be a pain in the ass since either way you need to dig it in or ski a gnarly setup....

this design is much safer/smoother imho....

Pay someone $50 to weld some solid legs to it. That way you can move it around, but it will also be really sturdy to hit. It's definitely worth it.

i'm assuming since he lives in conn he will have at least several inches of snow throughout the winter easily covering the foundation that wouldn't be that tall to begin with.
an important aspect of using treated 4x4's is the added weight that will help anchor the rail.
but thanks for raising legitimate concerns.

such a sick rail, you're lucky to find it like that. but personally, i would take it to a welder and get legs welded on. it shouldnt be too expensive, and it makes it pretty portable

Once you have found some way to make is sturdy, bring it to a hill or tobaganning hill (downhill slope) so it simulates a down hand rail.
